Summary: Orihime can only watch as Ichigo fades into the background. She can only watch and soundlessly reach out to him – to no avail. Even to her sharp eyes, he is fading. She can only watch and feel the pain of rejection.
A/N: One-sided OriIchi; main pairing IchiRuki; both pairings: angst/romance
Note: Don't like - Don't read! Reviews are welcome, flames are not.
Disclaimer: I do not own.
Orihime can only watch soundlessly.
She never knew how silent the world could be until Kuchiki Rukia left.
Kuchiki Rukia was a graceful being.
She had butterfly wings and seemed to float on the very ground she walked.
Her voice had the lilt of singing, as if she'd burst into peaceful song any moment.
Her large, doe-like violet eyes caught the attention of everyone.
Her raven hair had the perfect way to fall on her shoulders.
Her laugh was the only thing Kurosaki Ichigo ever heard in a room filled with people.
Her smile was the only thing Kurosaki Ichigo ever saw in a room filled with people.
Her touch was the only thing Kurosaki Ichigo ever held onto in his life, besides his mother.
Her beautiful, natural scent was all it took to whisk him awake from a troubling nightmare; she always smelled like the fresh rain as the sun appeared from behind the clouds.
And so, Orihime can only watch soundlessly as Ichigo cannot see her arm out towards him.
He cannot see her.
He cannot feel her gentle tap on the shoulder.
He cannot see her sad smile.
He cannot see her honey-brown eyes fill with tears
He does not realize that it's been a while since the sheltered princess has laughed.
He only knows how longs it's been since he's seen the stubborn princess that was like a caged dove.
Orihime hesitates for a second, wondering if she should just give up.
And she stays there, wondering on.
Fin.
Once again, reviews are welcome, flames are not. If you dislike either pairing, or how I've set up the story - do recall that this is *my* story, *not* yours, and that yet again, this is *fanfic.*
