Title: This Is Hurt
A/N: Really short, I know; this is my initial reaction to the end of "Strange Bedfellows" (squee!). Letting it go longer would've killed it, methinks. Oh, and characters, etc etc are not mine, etc etc.

"Keep this." Don't go, his mind screamed.
And she turned away, getting into the cab. He was left there on the curb, clutching the t-shirt like a little boy. He looked down at it in his hand.
He stood there for a while as his heart leaked onto the sidewalk, scared to look behind him. People stared as they passed by, but he didn't care. He wouldn't look back.
He was scared of facing the lost of the one person he had cared about, the one person he'd do anything for. The one person who was so much more than a one-night stand and a quick fix for whatever insecurities he had. He wanted her, damnit, her all along, and there she went. She was gone, just like that.
Ray brought the shirt up to his forehead, shielding his face from any prying eyes that might have been searching for his tears, and walked back to the apartment. He closed the door behind him and sat down on the couch.
He tilted his head back and closed his eyes, letting the pain pour down his sides.
