Matt stared around him, everything was new. He walked over and took a seat in the middle of the bus where no one could see him. He turned around, there was Melinda at the back of the bus laughing. She caught glance of him staring at her and she raised an eyebrow. He quickly turned away. The bus started to move trudging along the bumpy street. Lonely and bored he stared out the window. Something caught his eye. He looked closer. A girl was running down the street trying to catch the bus. Matt shuved his backpack of and sprung out of his seat. He ran to the front of the bus. "Stop, theres a girl back there trying to catch the bus" The bus driver grunted and looked at Matt annoyed but reluctently pulled the brakes. Matt could feel the eyes of other students looking at him, his face turned red. " Uhhh..thank-you", he said quietly and walked back to his seat what away to start middle school. Suddenly Matt felt someone next to him. "Hi my names Laurie, I'm sorry to sit here but had a bit of trouble getting on". Laurie gave him a bleak smile. Matt realised he was geting redder than ever. " He forced some words out" "Hi, I'm Matt". Laurie turned around and frowned. "I hate her....", she said in a sad voice "You know Melinda". Matt nodded his head " Yeah me to". " So I was wondering may'be you'd show me around...I heard you've b een here before." said Laurie laughing silently. " You know about that!!!", Matt turned his head away. "Yeah it's cool!" Laurie said in a amazed voice "really?" sighed Matt " Yeah...well most of it, I can't believe you were arrested at school!". "Well thats true". Suddenly the bus came to a halt. "So you coming or what Matt?" Matt thought to himself ,may'be highschool wasn't going to be hard after all.
