Klaus and Hayley share a more intimate goodbye during 3x22

"Klaus it's to dangerous. Let me come with you." Hayley rushed out to say, breathless well shaking her head frantically.

Klaus' response was instant. "I think not. Besides I'm the one they want."

Hayley had her hands on her hips, her lips pursed and she was practically shaking. Looking down at Hope she let out a deep breath. A loss for words.

There was a second of silence.

"Some time ago I refused to trust you with our daughter." Klaus' eyes met the floor.

"Klaus.." Hayley whispered and shook her head.

"I took you from Hope." Klaus emphasized every single word. His eyes finally met hers. Filled with guilty tears. "I was wrong."

Klaus sighed and placed a hand on Hayley's neck, bringing her a little closer to him. He stared into her brown eyes that was filled with her own tears.

"Take care of her."

The words came out shakily as he pushed away from her and walked passed her, fully prepared to walk out the door to his appending death. To save his family. To save his daughter. To save Hayley.

Hayley stood there for a second, breathing shakily as her hand rubbed gently where Klaus had touched her.

"Klaus." She turned around.

Klaus froze in his steps briefly, hesitating before turning around, a few tears running down his cheeks. He glanced at Hope and then back at Hayley.

Hayley walked up to him, placing both her hands around his neck and brought him into a kiss. Moving her lips against his and bringing the hybrid closer to her.

It took a second for Klaus to respond, completely shocked. When he did he wrapped his arm gently around her waist and pulled her more towards him until there bodies were pressed together. His other hand going to the back of her head and moving through her dark brown hair.

They pulled away, both breathless.

Hayley smiled faintly at him and placed her head against Klaus', smiling as more tears filled her brown eyes. "I don't care how long.. How long it takes, Klaus. Come home to us. To all of us. To your family who loves you."

Neither of them knowing what would happen after Klaus walked out those doors Klaus stared at Hayley before moving his hand to her cheek, stroking it gently.

"I promise." He said these words with a sad smile, both of them knowing it was a lie.

He hesitated only for a second to look past Hayley and at Hope who was watching them curiously before, he let a smirk graze his lips before turning around and walking out the door.
