little things
"Do you remember how it feels when you're fifteen and you love someone without limits?" she asked as she drew a smiling face on her notebook.
"No," he said, softly. "Because I was sixteen when I fell in love with you."
She spun on her high heels and stared at him. He stared back. Suddenly, it looked like the whole street had turned empty, and quiet. A blow of wind messed their long hair.

Later, Luka thought it was funny; when Gakupo asked her why she was giggling, she had smiled, and said : "It was like a western, don't you think?"
"Why, yes, a little. Actually I'd have lost."
"Why so?"
"You have revolver eyes."
"...Stupid."
At first everything is perfect, you plan your life and your future; as long as the other isn't away from you.
And then, it starts to crumble.
Even if it's not their fault, a couple can break. It happens, yes, sometimes. Only because it doesn't work.
They went to sleep at different times, they didn't like to eat the same things. They didn't drink at the same time. She liked to smoke with the windows open, but he preferred to fill the appartment they shared with the nauseating scent of cigarette.
They're only little things.
However, it can take so much importance.
Because living together, it's everyday.
If your everyday life isn't pleasant, you end strangled.
Somehow, it's harder to smile to the other; somehow, you both can't have a normal chat without criticisms. Somehow your partner grow more and more distant. A distance your hands can't reach.
"I'm not sad," Luka muttered, sniffling. "I'm not sad, bastard! But you are..."
"You aren't," Gakupo promptly answered as he tangled his slender fingers in her pink, cotton candy-like hair. "Neither do I. Boys don't cry."
"Are you sure you're a boy?" she chuckled.
"More like a man."
"You can't actually say this with this ridiculous massive amount of hair."
"Well, excuuuuse me, princess. You seemed to like it before..."
Gakupo didn't finish his sentence, he just stepped back, shooting a dour glance at his hands. He wasn't upset; he just said the forbidden thing: to talk about their past relationship.
"Gakupo," she breathed, softly. He didn't react as Luka's cold, shivering hands touched his cheek. He didn't react as she smiled sadly.
We can't go back.
Even if you outstretched your hands to the farthest, you can't reach the other.
Inevitably, there would be always little things.
