A/N: Wrote this super quickly cause I couldn't help but wonder why Sheldon was so emphatic that Amy was NOT his girlfriend...
Sheldon laughed at the pun once more in his head before putting his phone away. He heard Penny asking Leonard who Amy was and stiffened. "She is not my girlfriend." He didn't know why but it was imperative that Penny not think he was in a relationship of that sort with Amy. Despite his next two She-is-not-my-girlfriend proclamations, everyone continued to speak.
He sighed as Howard described the name 'Shamy' and felt a curious sadness that Penny was so happy about his supposed 'girlfriend'. He stood up angrily. "Alright, everyone pay attention. Yes, I have a friend named Amy Farrah Fowler. She is female, yes. Yes, we communicate on a daily basis but no, she is NOT my girlfriend." And with that, Sheldon turned to leave.
"Okay, well, what do you communicate about?" demanded Penny.
Sheldon paused for a moment, thrown by her usage of the word 'communicate'. "Well, my work in physics. Her work in neuro-biology." An idea sprung into his mind and he said it without, for maybe the first time in his life, much thought. "And most recently, the possibility of our having a child together."
He walked away as Penny sprayed her water all over Wolowitz and his robotic arm. Sheldon smiled to himself at Penny's violent action. Seemed she didn't take to the idea of him engaging in coitus with Amy. He planned to examine that information carefully. But first, he wanted to extrapolate some more data.
