I slowly entered the classroom after hearing my name, 'Rima Mashiro - our newest student!' the teacher cried cheerfuly. Was he always like this? I wouldn't know for sometime, maybe he was cheerfuly to make me feel less nervous, which, I secertly was jumping up and down inside.
I waited a bit until the teacher walked over to me.
"Could you smile for us?" he asked me. I paused there and looked at him blankly.
"You know what?" I started, and crossed my arms. "I can't smile if nothing's funny. Is that my desk?" I asked, pointing at an empty desk next to a pink-haired bored girl.
Her. She had to be the diva of this classroom. Things would be changing, now. With a confused 'Yes' from the teacher, I brushed my hair back and walked over to the desk.
"Erm, Hi. I'm Amu Hinamori." the pink haired girl said. Amu, what a pretty name.
"Just who do you think you are? Talking to me like we are friends." I said coldly to her, and spun to face foward. I then noticed many, many boys staring at me.
I did promise thing would change, and I had kept it already.
After a boring class, school was nearly over. A group of boys ran over to my desk, asking to do things like - 'Can I walk you home?' 'Can I carry your books?' 'Can I get you anything?' 'Are you hungry?'. I sighed and answered all of them.
"I am picked up. You may carry my books, but do not fall. I don't need anything, and I'm not hungry." I said, getting out of my seat, followed by the boy carrying my books. Once we reached the door, I took my books and bag back - not wanting my parents to see this random child. I shot him a fake smile on my way out. "Thank you." I said, and ran out to my mom's car.
"You're in a rush." she told me. I didn't answer her. I just shrugged. "How is it?" she asked me.
"It's a nice school, the classmates are...okay." I said, truth being I only knew the boys, and that Amu girl I had dissed.
"Okay?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not close to any of them yet." I answered. She started up the car and started driving home. It was about half-an-hour away from the school, so I had to hurry into the car.
"Rima!" Kusu's tiny cheerful voice cried to me. I looked at her, the tiniest clown I'd ever laid eyes on. Her hair, was a great light blonde like mine, and long like mine, only her's was straight. I had very, very curly hair. "Smile!" she cheered at me, making an odd face. I only grinned to please her.
