Been wanting to do this for more than half a year. Finally came round to it.

This is probably going to be the weirdest piece of writing you've ever read before. Lyrics to the background music of Minar Forest. Its official title is "Minar's Dream".

I made up a short legend to go with this: Long ago, Leafre (the region, not the city) was all barren rock, like the western half. Then a person named Minar had a dream that Leafre was full of trees. He broke the rock in a section of the eastern half of Leafre, and planted a tree. Others followed in his example and began growing trees there. And that's how Minar Forest came into existence.

About the song lyrics now. You should play the music in the background while reading; makes it easier. You can get it here: www. thejasoneffect. net/music/MapleStory/MemoriesoftheUnknown/RIPREYFIELD1. mp3. Delete the spaces.

The alignment changes every time the instrument changes. The italicised parts are descriptions of the dream, and the un-italicised parts are Minar's words. Bracketed parts are undertones, and do not go with the main melody.

Sorry for the long A/N, shall get on with the song now.

/ Minar's Dream /

ah! can it be?

a forest growing on the rock?

it's beautiful!

oh!

how I wish this were true, this were real!

well, it can be done…

i must try

hold on to my wish!

(Is this just a dream?)

leaves by a stream

so real does it seem

a heaven in Leafre, our home

a glorious sight

dancing in a dream!

(A dream of life and beauty…)

-x-

I know the ground is stone and all the mountains burn

I know the sun brims with fire, with every turn

But then our bare, barren home is a gem uncut,

Can't you see?

Our home's a gift

With true potential to set free!

I dreamt of life, of an endless perpetual sky,

And a forest beneath its reach

I dreamt our land had been freed from this drought

And it shone

In the sun!

And I know

It can happen someday

Rock can be shattered, the dust blown away,

Once someone dares

Dares to believe,

Such great things

Can be done!

(Just dream)

I'm sure that Leafre's treasures will someday unfold

It won't forever be wasteland, its gifts untold

Someday, our homeland will change for a bluer sky

Life will grow

If someone dares

To dream, to wish, to hope, to try.

(Hold my hand and touch the dream)
