A/N: Quick little author note, this is a bit before Pyrrha's death (she's still fighting Cinder) and Ruby and the remainder of JNPR haven't started their journey.
The seventeen year old male with dark grey hair with a white streak and little dog ears grabbed his weapon - a small flame thrower that shot ice cold bullets - and fought alongside his favourite teacher, Doctor Oobleck, their attacking and defending moves in perfect coordination. Dark grey eyes met sapphire blue ones.
If only he'd ducked.
Zwei hadn't seen the arrow coming at him, and the teacher had pushed him out the way, only to be impaled in the stomach and collapse.
The rest was a blur, and in seconds, Bartholomew Oobleck had been taken to be treated by the paramedics.
It was only when Zwei saw the discarded thermos that Barty always carried that he began to cry.
He picked up his weapon, continued to fight and made his way to the hospital.
There he lay, weak and vulnerable, perhaps dying.
"Don't die. Don't die. Don't die."
"Your teacher should survive. However, he is in a coma and we don't know when he'll awaken."
Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck - in a coma. It wasn't fair. He should have died but his teacher just had to take the arrow into the stomach and fall into a coma!
Zwei could have screamed, but he decided to watch all the patients being carried, walked or even dragged in.
Sun.
Velvet.
Sage.
Fox.
Cardin.
Dove.
Strangers. Friends. Enemies.
They were all piled into the hospital, and Zwei caught a glimpse of Lie Ren from Juniper being carried in by Jaune with Nora sprinting behind. (Was that a gash in the stomach?)
He sat in the seats of the waiting room, not wanting to leave, Jaune soon joined him (Nora apparently refused to leave her best friend), and watched as a doctor refused to treat someone because they were a Faunus. He clenched his fists, not daring to get involved.
"Can everyone please leave the building?" A doctor called out, waving an arm to get their attention. "We need to focus on the patients and can't do such with so many visitors!"
Zwei would never leave.
Zwei was dragged out by security.
He slumped against the wall, not wanting to leave the hospital grounds.
Doctor Oobleck needed him.
Pyrrha had been killed. Ruby had left on a mission with Team JN(P)R after Ren had healed enough.
The students and teachers had to fight and prove their worth.
Either that or death.
Zwei had to fight near the hospital - Neptune, Coco, Scarlet and Yatusashi helped him - and not just to protect the patients and doctors and nurses.
He visited Oobleck when able to, telling him about what happened that day and saying he was so sorry for letting him get into such a state.
"Please get better."
I'm sorry.
It hurt to hear.
But your teacher...
No.
Did not recover.
NO!
He died peacefully.
Did that even matter?!
He wasn't in pain.
...
But Zwei was.
A/N: I know this is crap.
I only had the idea of Zwei being a Faunus and Dr Oobleck falling into a coma and dying.
