I'm changing it from third to first person. I'm not liking how it sounds with it being third. Sorry if you preferred it being third, I just prefer writing in first. Hope you enjoy the chapter, just as much as I have typed it. A character is being changed in this because I'm no longer allowed to use the name.

Prolog

A young woman with long dirty blond hair that reaches the middle of her back, but is in a low pony tail, is fidgeting with her pencil as she reads, then re-reads the questions and answers on her test. She glances at the clock, it reads 2pm, gritting her teeth, she looks back down at her paper. She gives a low sigh and puts her pencil down, leaning back in her seat.

Her blue eyes glance around the classroom, the other students are still hard at work, doing their test. She's been in a hurry, all she wants to do is play a game that she had been lucky on getting. It was the last one on the shelf, she got a discount because it had been the very same game she had been looking at, for six months.

The moment she saw him, was the moment she knew she couldn't stop playing the game. It's called The Last Remnant. She's had the game for an entire year and still hasn't beaten it, but she knows what the ending is like.

Her friend who she had met when she moved to her new town had watched her one day playing it, she had instantly fell for the main character, the one that is a remnant and doesn't know it till around the end of the game. His name is Rush Sykes. The one this blue eyed woman loves is David Nassau.

She loves the thought that he is a year older than her, he's 19 years old, she is 18, she has had dreams about him, naughty dreams that she should only be having about guys that are real, alive and in the flesh.

I sigh and glance up at the clock, 2:15pm, I groan and rest my head on the desk. I hate how it seems as though time is passing too slowly. I can't stand the thought of not playing the game, that has my precious David in it.

I have decided to start over the whole game, again, for the third time. I need to better myself in levelling up the characters to get past spots that are difficult, in my past and current games. I know my friend finds it amusing to watch how excited I tend to get when I see the young leader. I'm also aware of the crush she has for Rush, she somehow manages to keep it on the inside instead of showing her excitement with the same enthusiasm as I do.

"I wonder if Krystal will be waiting for me"? I whisper to myself. My friend is the same age as me, but had to leave school early today because of work, actually she had to leave second period, it had been an emergency and they needed her for a few extra hours.

"Alright class, hand in your papers", the teacher says as he looks up from his small timer. It's making a quite beeping sound indicating that time is up. I get to my feet along with the other students, then we all file in line. I look down at the teacher who is sitting in his desk chair and arms crossed. He nods at each student as they set the paper on the desk, then make their way back to their seats. I smile some, the guy is rather attractive. Sadly, he is a teacher, it's out of bounds for a student and teacher to have a fling, or relationship other than school.

He has jet black hair, amazing navy blue eyes, a finely proportioned face, he could actually pull off being a model. The guy is also tall, he's in his early 30s, making him not that old for a teacher. I place my paper on the desk, then turn around.

"Hikaru", is what stops me from taking that first step. With a sound of acknowledgement, I turn around as he continues, "I would like to have a word with you, before you go". I nod my head, then turn on my heels and rush to my desk, my heart pounding loudly in my ear as though it disapproved of my attempted.

I love everything about him, his looks, his personality as well as his caring nature. Shaking my head and looking at the desk as a flash invades my mind. It's about Krystal teasing me concerning my crush on the teacher, she loves to remind me how out of bounds he really is.

It doesn't stop me from fantasizing about having a student, teacher relationship, but I tend to shake my head most times if I've been thinking about real men. I have another that I like to fantasize about, but he isn't flesh. He's nothing more than a figment of someone's imagination.

"Hikaru get out there and find yourself a real prince charming", my mother would start the moment I'd settle for ideally staring at the screen, David sitting in his throne. Making poor Rush look as though he's gay. I'd always ignore my mother's statement in favour of looking at the screen, as far as I'm concerned, he is real, just not in my world.

Bring

The students in class get to their feet in an instant, I however, stay seated, only getting up once all the others are gone. I make my way over to the teacher's desk, my heart pounding as I get closer and closer to him. I note that he's already working on grading the tests.

"You wanted to speak with me, Mister Black"? I ask, I feel my face begin to heat up. He finishes one sheet, then looks up at me, a warm smile on his features. My heart seems to be thumping in my ears.

"Yes, the project you did for the last assignment", he begins, "I would like to keep it to show future classes". I look at him for a while, blinking a few times. Had he really just asked me that.

"Are you asking if you can use my work"? I had to ask for a reassured answer, and so I can tell I'm not dreaming. I never thought that my work would be great enough to be shown to future classrooms. The assignment had to do with the different sewage stuff, where it would exit out of the city, what would happen so on so forth. I aced it without needing to study, I had also drawn a diagram showing my words.

"Yes, in fact, I'm very pleased with it", he answers.

"Sure, I wouldn't mind", I respond, still not really believing it's true. I stand in place watching him, he goes back to grading the tests. I'm unsure of what to do, my heart won't stop pounding, I feel anxious for some reason. It makes me feel like an utter moron as I stand in place shocked, it's like my crush had asked me to a dance. I watch as he grads three sheets of paper before looking up, a small playful smile on his face.

"Please, I may be one of the most attractive teachers in this school, but you make it look like I asked you something forbidden", he jokes. I shake my head, finally able to snap out of my stupor.

"I'm so very sorry, I'm just still in utter shock that you want to use my work", I answer, it's the truth, it's not just because I have an attraction toward him. He chuckles at that then leans back in his chair.

"Why"? He asks. I look at him oddly.

"Why would you not think your work would be any good"? He clarifies.

"Well", I start, looking down at my feet, "No one ever has asked to use my work, nor had I actually thought I'd do something that could help aid in another's education".

"I see", he says, leaning forward once more, taking his pen in his hand just as he looks over the next sheet.

"Each and everyone of you have your own intelligence, it's just your work is to the specific I wanted, so I'd love to use it as an example for my future classes", he replies then gets back to grading.

"That makes sense", I say stupidly.

"Have a good night, miss Sayotanna", he says.

"You too", I respond back and begin walking.

"What a way of embarrassing yourself", I whisper to myself sarcastically. I stop once I get to my locker, it hadn't been that far from the room I was just in. With a sigh, I open it then gather my things, closing it, I turn and grin.

"Lord David, here I come", I say a bit more excited than I intended. I lock my locker and rush down the hall, wanting to get home as fast as I can. I rush out the front doors, then instantly stop. I gaze up at the sky, my eyes going wide.

"Wow, the clouds look strange", I breath. It's breathtaking, as well as terrifying. The sky is nearly dark, the clouds are mixed colours of nearly everything, and it looks to be swirling some. Shrugging my shoulders, I make my way off the school grounds, only one thing on my mind. I want nothing more than to play the game.

"It hadn't taken you as long as I thought it would of", a girl with long dark brown hair, hazel eyes says as she gets up as I approach the porch.

"Krystal", I reply a smile on my face, "Mister Black wanted to use my project". Krystal movers her head to the side, and smiles at me.

"I knocked on the door, but there had been no answer", she says as she walks over to the door. I sigh and look at the front door. I had completely forgot that my parents weren't going to be home till tomorrow afternoon. I rummage around in my pocket for my keys. I walk up the steps, keys in hand and stop for a brief moment in front of the door. I swing the door open and usher Krystal to go in first. She nods and begins walking.

"You weren't running just because I was here, where you"? Krystal asks once the door clicks closed. I turn and face her, "No". She raises a brow and smiles some. I watch as Krystal walks over to the light switch her face no longer abused, "Holly weather", she says then clicks the light switch on.

"I know right", I say, I turn and look out the small window, the sky had slowly gotten darker as I was rushing home. It's almost as though it's ten at night, but it's only 3:30pm.

"It's kinda scary", Krystal says as she moves the blind some to peek outside, the sky is black now.

"The hair's on the back of my neck are sticking up, but for some reason it doesn't scare me", I couldn't help but say. I had pondered it for some time, but I know my body, it's more excitement than it is fear.

"I'm actually concerned about it myself", she says, I look at her face and know she's not playing around, once her face has the serious look on it, I know she senses something is up with this storm. With a sigh, I turn and begin walking down the hall, I'm aware of how childish I can be, but when it concerns my friends and family, I'll set that childish behaviour aside for their sake.

"I guess the only thing to do is to watch me play the game", I say, it's the only thing I can think of to get her mind off the weather outside. I grin as I can't wait to see Lord David.

"I don't know, I really don't think it's a good idea to do anything during this type of storm", Krystal tries to be reasonable. I stop and turn to face her. She just walks past me without another word and turns into the kitchen. I shake my head and walk into the room too, going right for the kitchen table. I watch as my friend walks over to the radio and turns it on. We go silent as it turns on, she tries finding a channel that works, but all we are getting is static. No station is getting through.

"This is just too bizarre", she retorts as she continues to surf through the stations. Sighing, I get up and walk over to the phone, might as well give it a try. I pick it up and place the receiver to my ear only for my eyes to widen, nothing. No dial tone.

"The radio and the phone", I say. Krystal turns and faces me a questioning look on her face.

"I wonder if out generator is on"? I ask out loud as I continue to look at Krystal.

My parents had gotten a really good generator just in case of power outages. It turns on, on its own the moment the power goes out, so it's like it never had. It was really costly, but my parents have that kind of money to spare.

"I don't hear the rumbling of one", Krystal comments after a long pause. I shake my head, then smile, "Because it's not one of those cheap ones".

"Oh", Krystal's only response. I chuckle at her, then we stand in utter silence, feeling the slight vibration under our feet, which could be an indication that something is running somewhere downstairs. My house is a huge house, nearly like a mansion, I don't ever dare go into the basement, I'm just down right scared of them. I've never set foot down there.

"So, what now"? Krystal suddenly asks, the silence must of been getting to her.

"The Last Remnant"? I couldn't help but ask, I'm desperate to see the young leader. Giving a long sigh, Krystal nods her head. I jump slightly out of pure bliss and start for the living room.

"You'll be able to see it from the beginning", I say, then rush out the door, down the hall and into the living room.

I rush to get it all set up, turn on the tv, then the game system, take the couple of steps to my seat and sit down, then fidget impatiently with the controller as it all starts up. The closer it gets to the title page I begin to shake out of excitement, my patients are wearing thin, I want the game to start and right now.

"I think you should get yourself a real guy", Krystal laughs some. I watch her walk over to the other chair beside mine and sits down.

"The only guy I have an actual interest in is the teacher, and he is out of bounds", I reply as I eye the screen willing it to load faster.

"Hmm, if you played your cards right, you could always date him", Krystal points out, amusements evident in her voice.

"I could, it's true, but knowing me, I wouldn't even make a good first impression on the guy", I point out, I turn my gaze toward her.

"That's true", she says with a smile forming on her face, "You do tend to make a huge fool of yourself", than she laughs.

"Hey", I protest, but unable to think of anything smart to say. After a moment of silence we both turn to the screen as soon as it's the title, the wonderful music fills the room.

"That's a fantastic picture of Rush", Krystal comments, she wouldn't ever show it, or even say it, but she is just as thrilled about seeing Rush as I am about seeing David.

"Yup, it is a good picture", I agree, then click the new game options.. I go through the stuff about the picture and sound as fast as I can, then the game begins playing. We both go dead silent as the video moves down trees, than to a person walking past what seems like the camera. I notice Krystal lean forward more in her chair, her eyes bright with excitement at seeing him.

"Damn... Where is she", Rush's voice says on the screen as he looks around in search of someone. Then he is distracted some from floating petals.

"Hmm". He walks over to the purple and white flower, kneeling down, "Irina's favourite". Some cries in the distance makes him look away from the flowers and gets to his feet and rushes off to where the sound is coming from.

I'm fidgeting some in my seat knowing what is coming next.

Unknowingly to the both of the girl's it begins to down poor outside, the winds pick up their howling as the clouds begin to rumble.

Rush stops at the cliff's edge looking down confused at the sight below him.

"What in the hell"? He asks. Then the screen switches to the army and a rather large weapon of some sort being carted around by four giant creatures.

I let out a small squealing sound, that weapon I know who it belongs to, my heart just races at the thought of who will be appearing on screen soon.

"Out of the way you idiots", A random guard says, then some of the people stop, the screen showing a man with two different coloured overcoat on, and sun kissed skin.

I squirm in my seat at the small view of his clothes, then settle down when the next scene appears.

A strange creature brings back his hammer like weapon and heaves it forward with all the strength he's got on the support beam of the massive weapon. The beams, then all break away, the giant gun like weapon plummets to the ground with an earth shaking thud, sending dust to shoot up from the ground.

Then the screen focuses on a figure hidden behind that smoke, putting something on his head, over his one eye.

"The Gae Bolg is ready", another soldier yells as the odd huge gun begins to glow. The camera view changes again to a cat like creature with four arms, walking through the crowd, then stopping at the blond haired man who has the different coloured overcoat on as well as the weird device over his eye.

"We are ready. My Lord", the cat creature says, then the man turns his head and nods. The cat man turns around and speaks loudly for all to hear, "Victory shall be ours"! Everyone who is standing behind them both raises their arms and cheers their all ready victory.

Back to where Rush is standing, he looks around at the massive armies and asks, "What is this"? Then he sees a woman walking amongst them and yells, "Irina"! Then starts down the cliff skillfully to get to the woman.

We both suddenly jump as a loud crack is heard through the sky, it's felt rumbling the ground below us. We both get to our feet looking around, finally realizing it didn't come from inside, it's coming from outside.

"What the hell.."? I trail as I walk over to the window beside the game system. Krystal gets up and stands beside me, also looking out at the nasty storm. Lightning is seen in the distance, lighting up the dark sky. The down poor is so bad that it's making a thin waterfall rush down the window.

All too soon, neither woman knew what was coming, but pure darkness as both are hit with something rather bright and very powerful.

There it is, the re-done chapter of The Last Remnant story. I'm so sorry that it's taking forever for me to update stories and to go through them all, but I promise you it'll be well worth the wait, please, please be patient a while longer, and hope you enjoyed the re-write.
