Author's Note: Poem of InuYasha's thoughts as he watches Kagome sleep.
Jasmine Angel
Pillars of old, holding us up
High above the poisoned air
Breathed through the mouths and words of liars
Nothing can touch us
Only the stars have that privilege
Never reaching any further
Than the moon bathed skin of your face
Stars will never fall upon us - around us
The silent fire in your chocolate eyes
Smoldering in this heart of mine as I gaze
Lost in how I was so close to falling -
Drowning in the mist of the past
Jasmine angel lying in my arms
Intoxicating the porous stone of my heart - mind
Words of truth balanced on the edge of my
Sharp edged tongue - burning to be released
I will be forever, body and soul
You will be now, your memory my ghost
Will you be forever with these words I burn to utter?
Or will you pass into ash, leaving only your scent to linger?
Longingly I look onto a dream alive
Haunting words find their escape as my lips meet yours
Jasmine angel as sweet as your scent
Savoring your flavor while I can - warmth to match
I sense a gaze and pull away - chocolate eyes gazing, ablaze
I feel their smolder in my heart raise to my cheeks
To speak now is impossible - your fingers on my lips
A smile only a goddess could rival spread across your
Milky face - stealing the words I wished to speak
Hushed words sung in a voice of sweet honey
"I love you too, InuYasha."
My jasmine angel
My Kagome
