This is something I wrote to become a beta and I probably won't update much so...anyway enjoy!!!!!!!!
It had been 6 months since Renesmee's birth. It was the 13th of March; and the worst day of our lives.
We were watching the news, just our normal, happy, if slightly weird family. Alice was drifting in and out of visions, which wasn't unusual after our brief run in with the volturi a few months ago. She liked to know what was going on, or so she told us.
Because of this, we wouldn't of noticed she was seeing anything important unless Edward hadn't of gasped.
I stared at him, my eyes questioning, but his eyes were vacant, listening to Alice. I glanced at her too, just as her eyes became focused.
"Alice, what happened?" Jasper asked expertly, rubbing her arm.
Instead of responding, she looked expectantly at the television. The screen had changed and a special report had come up on screen. I thought they only did that in old movies. The man on screen was bolding – and looked very stressed. The wisps of hair which remained were grey in colour, and his face was lined with wrinkles. He wore large spectacles and was clean shaven. I guessed that he was either in his late fifties or early sixties.
"L-Ladies a-and Gentlemen" he stuttered nervously "I c-come be-before you today t-to t-no to inform you t-that you are all in danger!" he seemed to grow some confidence as he formed his sentence. "The existence of, err, of certain creatures has been confirmed yesterday evening. I am sorry to inform you that v-vampires exist." He paused slightly "I know that many of you will not believe me, but I have evidence!" The screen changed to show a street somewhere in the U.S.A. As we watched in silence, a vampire appeared on screen. I saw from his blood red eyes that he was a newborn. He smiled transfixed at a man who had appeared in the bottom left hand corner. His smile turned to a sneer as he lunged at the victim. I closed my eyes and hugged Renesmee to me. She hid her face in my hair; refusing to look at the screen.
"Th-the traits of these v-vampires are uh-unknown. Anyone who has information call this number" A ten digit number appeared at the bottom of the screen. "Anyone who has seen anyone pale, different or anything please contact us! If you're wrong I'm sure said person will forgive you. Please!!" The screen changed back to the newsreaders we'd been watching a few minutes earlier. The only sound was Renesmee's heartbeat and breathing. Every vampire in the room had gone very still, we weren't even breathing.
After what felt like an eternity, Renesmee whispered "What do we do Mommy?"
Before I could respond; the phone rang shrilly through the house. I growled at it; irritated. Edward chuckled slightly. I rolled my eyes, wandering over to answer the phone. I glanced at Alice before I picked it up.
"It's Renée and she's already guessed so don't bother lying" she told me quietly.
"Great" I muttered, picking up the phone. "Hello, Cullen residence how can I help you?" I said in my best 'rough' voice.
