A/N: Heyy everybody, I am sorry I haven't updated Band Kids in forever, I have a writers block in just about everything…I wrote this in school one day and finally typed it up, enjoy!
I gasped. Dylan was falling from the sky into the fiery pits down on earth.
'A sacrifice shall be needed' the prophecy had said. I had already planned it out that I would be the one to die. As long as nobody loved me, why not?
"Dylan!" I heard an anguished voice say. Maya was rushing toward him as fast as her wings could carry her.
"Maya, no!" Fang yelled. I started flying towards him as Maya sped after Dylan's frozen figure.
I couldn't believe it. I had to kill him. I killed him. He was the only one, and I killed him. He was dead because of me. I felt the tears run down my face as Maya and Dylan finally disappeared into the depths of the earth.
Suddenly, a white beam of light shot up into the air. Eventually, at a point higher than any of us would dare to fly, it started to umbrella outward, beginning to encompass the entire world, like a new atmosphere. I traced the path to where it began.
Squinting, I saw in the middle of it all, a small figure with pure white wings floating upward.
"Angel!" I screamed, shooting towards my baby. She opened her gorgeous blue eyes slightly and looked toward me.
'Stay, Max. You've done your part. Let me do mine.' She said in my head. The umbrella started to grow faster.
After a while, the dome surrounding us gave off a brilliant flash of light, more pure than any I had seen. Before, and us avian hybrids tend to get the sun in our eyes very often. As fast as it came, it was gone, as was the dark abyss Dylan had caused. Maya, however, was still there, with Dylan's limp figure in her shaking arms.
"You! What have you done? You killed him!" That hurt worse than a bullet, slicing through my heart. "And you! You helped! Do you have any idea what he went through to help you?" She said, directing her anger to Angel. At this point, she was screaming hysterically, almost to the point of making no sense. She made the mistake of lunging at Angel.
Instantly, Fang was there. "Don't. Touch them. Either one of them. Maya..." he said in a tortured voice. I could tell he was having an inner struggle. Me or Maya. The original Flock, or his little gang.
Maya hissed and lunged past Fang at me. Instantly, almost as a reflex, he had caught one of Maya's wings and dislocated it,
"I'm sorry." He whispered as Maya fell, her eyes filled with malice. She hit the ground and instantly was in impossible positions, meaning just about every bone in her body was broken.
"Max! Fang!" I heard a voice say from behind us cry. A small bundle flew straight at us both.
"Angel, sweetie! Where were you? I thought you died!" I said, gathering her into my arms as best as I could while flying.
"It doesn't matter, I'm here now. I wanna go home."
"Well, I think we can arrange that." Fang said. We flew down to where the rest of both of the groups of hybrids were camping out.
"You did it, Max! You saved the world!" They all yelled after we had all adequately fussed over Angel.
And I had, for the time being.
