It was the day before Halloween, and the Louds were all about to make some Jack-o'-lanterns.
"What are you doing?" asked a gothic voice.
Everybody jumped startled and then turned around to see it was none other than Lucy, wearing her usual getup alongside a black witch hat. "Oh hi Lucy," Lincoln nonchalantly greeted. "We were about to carve our pumpkins for tomorrow."
"Why would you need to do that?" Lucy asked, sounding genuinely confused. Well, as confused as someone of her emo-tional range could sound.
"Because we carve pumpkins in order to make Jack-o'-lanterns," and then Lincoln grabbed Lucy's hand. "Come with me, I'll show you."
At the backyard...
Lucy sat on the grass and watched intently as her sisters-and Lincoln-carved their pumpkins. First, they cut open a hole at the top of the pumpkin, then dumped the contents somewhere nearby, before they carved the faces on he hollowed pumpkins.
"And that's basically how a Jack-o'-lantern is made," Lincoln said. "Did you get it, Lucy?"
"You massacre pumpkins by opening their heads, before forcefully throwing out their brains and insides, before cutting pieces of their hollow corpse to form a grotesque body-face?" Lucy asked.
The Louds somehow didn't expect Lucy to take this. "Well-"
"That's awesome!" Lucy exclaimed. "I want to try it!"
Lincoln got up and walked away as he and his sisters watched Lucy grab a knife and get a malicious smile as she slowly walked towards a pumpkin...
At the night of Halloween...
The Loud family were dressed up for the Halloween night, with the younger Louds-minus Lucy-having left with Luna, Luan, Lori and Leni to go trick or treating, leaving Lincoln and Lynn behind. Notably, they were pretty bored since nobody had come to trick or treat in a while.
In fact, nobody had come to trick or treat at all.
"Okay, so we still have yet to see a trick or treater, which admittedly is pretty worrying" Lynn remarked, catching her brother's attention. "But look at the bright side, once somebody finally comes here, it's going to be a treat. Hahaha, get it?"
The joke earned Lynn a look from Lincoln. "You're right, I probably shouldn't try to imitate Luan," said the athlete.
And then Lincoln got off the couch and walked to the nearest window, where he saw the mostly busy street and a couple of trick or treaters approaching, then promptly walking away from the house.
"Huh, how weird, nobody has even approached our house for trick or treating," Linc remarked. "Why do you think that's the case?"
"Well, maybe it has something to do Lucy's terrifying Jack-o'-lantern," Lynn suggested. "Speaking of which, where is Lucy?"
Meanwhile, outside the house...
Lucy, dressed as a zombie witch, sat next to her Jack-o'-lantern, which was carved to look like a screaming human head pleading for mercy and for somebody to end it's agony, with the inside illuminated by a candle.
What a delightful sight to behold.
"I don't care what anybody says, I think you're beautiful," Lucy told the carved pumpkin before turning to some nearby trick or treaters. "Hey, would you like to hang out with me and my Jack-o'-lantern?"
The moment they saw the Jack-o'-lantern, the kids ran away as fast as they could, screaming at the top of their lungs.
In response, Lucy... rubbed the Jack-o'-lantern's head with a smile. "Good job."
