Based on Caitlyn's insecurity. Review etc. One-shot.
Caitlyn stormed out of the Mess Hall, tears threatening to fall. She had just had an outburst which was never meant to happen, but she wasn't going to admit that to anyone.
"Caitlyn! Wait! Please!" she heard behind her. Ignoring the voice, she made her way down the muddy path to the lake. As she got there, she quickly diverted to the woods but before she could enter, the person blocked her way. "What was that about?" The person asked concerned.
Caitlyn didn't answer. Instead she sniffed, rolling her eyes.
"Caitlyn?" The person asked again. This time, she did reply.
"Maybe I'm a little jealous, okay?!" she yelled, throwing her arms up. "Happy now?!"
"Jealous of what?" The person asked, shocked.
"That you have parents who love and adore you, they spend time with you. Siblings and people who love you. Fantastic school grades. Perfect life. People dropping at your feet. Good looks-look, the list goes on, okay?!" Caitlyn yelled.
The person scoffed and the sadness was evident in their eyes.
"Well, maybe I'm jealous of you." They replied, stuffing their perfect hands in their designer trouser pockets.
"Why would you need to be jealous of me for?" Sam asked, leaning against a nearby tree and crossing her arms, eyebrow raised.
"Sometimes it's annoying to have parents who loves you so much that they call you everyday to know what you're doing. Sometimes it's annoying to be so talented and have people at my beck and call. My life isn't 'perfect'. I barely see my sister remember? Same as you. And people don't drop at my feet. I don't even notice and I don't even want that. It's not my fault that I look good enough that they do but my looks don't compare to what I'm seeing right in front of me. Caitlyn, you're beautiful, you're witty, you don't have a nagging parents at your ear all the time who dictate what you do and guys do fall at your feet, again, being modest, you don't notice that fact. And I know you get excellent grades, even better than me. I know you're clever, you just don't think you are. You also can dance, produce music, sing and play a whole lot of instruments better than I can. So, maybe I'm a little jealous of you because you have a laid back life, I even wish I got sent to boarding schools just because my parents care about my education. It's hard being that person everyone goes to. It's hard to be a singer and have the famous life. I wish I could have your life even for like, a day. To be in your shoes because you are a strong, clever, independent woman and it hurts me that you're hurting over a thing like this. Now, take my word, you are great, don't ever change. Don't be jealous of me as I am of you because one day, in the future, I bet you'll be an even better person than I will be. Think about it, okay?" The person gently kissed Caitlyn's cheek and turned around, leaving.
"Nate, wait." Caitlyn said, catching up for him to stop and turn back to her. She gave him a small smile and walked up to him. "Thank you." she whispered. Nate nodded and wrapped his arms around her.
"Any time, Caity." he whispered back, kissing her head.
