SUMMARY: A cold winter day at Hogwarts. A collection of oneshots.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Harry Potter.

It's quite hard to play chess with yourself. Harry Potter soon found that out one cold winter day at Hogwarts. Poor Harry had tried to play chess with Hermione, although she couldn't stop capturing her own players. He couldn't try with Ron - Ron was much better than him at chess. Now he had just figured if he sat here alone someone would join him. It was expected, wasn't it? There had to be someone, as lonely and bored as he was. And infact there was - Luna Lovegood, who was strolling in right now, as if by accident. She had a dreamy look on her face. Harry looked at her, walking in the slight moonlight. She looked rather pretty at that moment. She wasn't the most striking girl at Hogwarts, but her dreamy, wide-eyed looks had a charming quality to them that made you smile. Infact, Harry did smile at that moment. Loony as she was, she was at least a distraction from his boring chess game. Was that all she really was? A distraction? Harry had once asked himself this question, and shook it off. It didn't really matter, did it? As he glanced back at her, now staring out the window with a little smile on her face, he decided yes, it did matter. He grabbed the arm of the nearest chair and helped himself up. He made his way towards Luna, not really know what he was going to do. He tapped her on the shoulder, and she turned towards him with a surprised look - although she always looked surprised, what with her wide eyes - and said, "Hello, Harry" in that voice of hers. Luna was awfully strange, but Harry had come to appreciate her oddities and quirks. He actually quite liked them.. he would even go so far to say he loved them. He didn't know life without Luna now. She had always been a ray of sunshine, to cheer him up when others couldn't. He couldn't live without her now, he realized. What was he going to do after he graduated? How was he going to manage? He realized now he wanted Luna to be around for the rest of his life.. he needed Luna to be around for the rest of his life. Was Harry Potter thinking this? These were the thoughts people thought before proposing to someone.. proposing to someone they loved. Was this what he thought it was? Did Harry Potter.. love Loony Lovegood? As he looked towards her, and his heart started breakdancing, he knew. He wanted to hold Luna, to have Luna with him forever, to be her one and only. "Harry?" she asked, still wide-eyed. "Is something wrong?" He looked at her face, that seemed to radiate with sunshine and happiness. "No.. everything's absolutely perfect," he said, giving her hand a squeeze.
