18th vorn
"Emerald?" A small white femme with blue accents turned to her mint green twin who shifted to face her, "Yes sister?"
The white femmes blue optics flitted back towards the holo screen, which was currently playing Praxis' latest news.
"Do you…worry?" She turned back to her sister who was now starring at her twin in concern.
Her optic ridges pushed together, "Whatever for?"
The white femme fidgeted slightly "Well…we are 18 vorns old now, we're full grown, and it's not uncommon for their to be arranged bondings between the royal families …D-do you thing Carrier and Coder would bond us off?"
Her twin sighed softly "I guess that was what's bothering you. In all honesty Sapphire, sometimes I do, but it's a duty we were born to do. No matter how much we dislike it, we are the creations of the royal family of Praxis, it's in our energon to do what's best for our home, and I doubt our carrier and coder would do so without Praxis' best interests in mind "
"Happy 18th vorn my beautys!" Emerald was interrupted when a petite gold and blue femme bounded down the stairs and into the sitting room. She threw her arms around her sparklings and kissed both their cheek-plates before stepping back grinning widely. "Are you ready for your presents my dears?" the two femme 'sparklings' exchanged a glance, and an excited nudge towards each other wafted through their twin bond.
They looked back to their carrier before nodding enthusiastically, "Oh yes! Carrier Goldstreak!"
The hyper gold femme's grin widened and she hopped back over to the foot of the stairs before calling up them. "Titus! The girls are awake!"
Soon, a large black and silver mech appeared at the top of the stairs and slowly descended stating, "Goldstreak, is spoiling our sparklings really necessary? They are far to old, 18 vorns! Full grown femmes!"
The twins giggled at their coders words, today was their marking of their Coming-of-Age ceremony, It was customary among the royal families to give gifts to the children when they came to their 18th vorn of existence.
They glanced at one another and glided to their coder "Coder Titus! What presents do you have for us?"
Titus raised and optic ridge "Hmmph…Greedy femmes you are." The twins gasped slightly before they caught sight of the sly smile on their coders faceplates.
Titus spoke again, "For now I will give you your smallest present, for your larger 'present' will arrive later this orn."
The twins shared a grin when their coder un-subspaced two very intricate garments and handed one to each of the twins.
The white femme unraveled her garment and let its folds cascade softly to the floor. She gasped when she saw the soft blue fabric, it was shimmering with microscopic pieces of silver and chunks of her namesake, Sapphire.
The mint colored femme squealed when she unraveled her piece to see a similar article to her sister only it was laced with her own name sake, Emerald.
They were veils, commonly worn by royal femmes in public, or at official bonding ceremonies.
The bond Emerald shared with her sister was suddenly full of panic and anxiety, "D-do y-you tthink this is for what I think it iiss?
She sent her sister sent calming waves through the bond.
"I truly hope not, Sister…."
They lunged for their creators and flung their arms around them, this was by far the best gift they had ever received. "Oh thank you!" They pulled away, clutching their garments to their chassis'.
Their carrier smiled softly at them, "Come, come! I'll show you how to properly place those among yourselves." She stepped between her creations and gripped their elbows, leading them towards the nearest mirror.
