Hello! This one-shot is kinda sorta really short, and for that I'm sorry. Please don't hate me! T-T
This story is about an Urban Legend in Japan called "The Manhole". Look it up on google for the actual story.

Nine, nine, nine...

Alphonse was walking to HQ to see his brother, one day. Ed was there to talk with the Colonel about mysterious disapearences occuring around the city. He was only a few miles away, when something caught his eye:
It was a little girl, jumping up and down on top of a manhole.
He decided to go over and see why she was doing that. He got closer to the girl, and realised she was repeating one word, over and over again.

"Nine, nine, nine, nine, nine, nine, nine..."

Al said to the girl, "Hello, little girl. What are you doing"
She ignored him, continuing to jump on the manhole. Al thought this girl was a bit strange, but kept talking to her anyway.
"Why are you jumping on a manhole? And why do you keep saying 'nine'?" He said to the girl.
This time, she stopped and spoke to him. "My name's Alexia, and I'm holding a competition. Whoever can jump higher than me, gets 5,000 cenz. There have been nine people who tried"
Al, being the trusting person he is, decided to try it, since him and his brother needed money for reaserch.

He took his place on top of the manhole, getting ready to jump.
Alexia stood to the side and told him how high he must jump. She started counting him in:
"Ready," Al bent his knees. "Set," He bent them a little more. "Go"
He jumped as high as he could, which is pretty hard for a suit of armour. He came down, expecting to meet the thick metal of the manhole cover, but it wasn't there. Instead, he fell straight through the hole. He fell into the sewer water with a resounding SPLASH! that echoed off the walls. Al looked up as the light from the manhole grew dimmer and dimmer. "I was right. That girl IS weird." Al told himself before everything turned black for him as his blood seal faded.

After hearing no more movement from the sewer, Alexia put the cover back on the manhole. Smiling with satisfaction and glee, she started jumping up and down on the manhole again, repeating one word:

"Ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten..."
