I don't own Ross, Eames, or Goren, but I would like to borrow Goren.

Major Case Squad. It took Ross a long time to get here and now he was coming to see that his success here depended on two people. His top two detectives, Alex Eames and Bobby Goren. The biggest problem with that was Goren's stability. Goren had stormed out of his office again and then his partner, Eames, had turned to him and said "That work for you Captain." "Not really" Ross had wanted to reply but she had left just as abruptly and Goren had. He sat down at his desk and closed his eyes. Would he ever get along with these two?

Eames caught up with Goren just as he was exiting the building. "Bobby! Hold up. What the hell is the matter with you?"

"Just back off Eames," he snapped at her. "Just back the hell off."

"Not this time Bobby."

"Eames!"

"No, you listen to me! You keep shutting me out. I have put up with it for a long time, but not anymore. This time you are going to let me help you."

"Right now, I just need to cool off"

"Fine, we'll walk together, but I am not going away."

"Why not?!"

"Well for one thing you expect me to. For another, I care about you and I want to help, even if it is simply keeping you company while you walk off a bad mood."

The walked and walked in mostly in silence. Once they reached the park, Bobby stopped and sat on a bench. Alex sat next to him, closer than she normally would, but she had already decided that maybe it was time to rethink their established boundaries.

"Bobby, the Captain was wrong. You know that."

"Was he Eames? I put you in a dangerous position again last night and you could have been killed."

"You know as well as I do that danger comes with the badge." She took hold of his hand and continued. "Ross said that you didn't think and that you didn't care. But I know that you care Bobby"

"So you're saying its ok if I get you killed as long as I give a hoot."

"Was it your intention for me to get hurt last night?"

"Hell no! I didn't plan on you being there at all."

"No you didn't, you were trying to get yourself killed last night instead."

"No big loss there, now is it."

"Bobby! I don't ever want to hear you say that again. It would be a big loss to me."

"Maybe you could then get a partner that wouldn't hold you back like I do."

"I don't want another partner you big idiot! I want you!"

"You shouldn't have been there last night. I wasn't supposed to be risking anyone's life but my own."

"Yeah well, when I figured out what you had planned I wasn't going to let you walk in there alone."

"Why not?"

"Because I Love You!" Whoops, that wasn't supposed to come out.

"Well I Love You too!" He shouted back at her.

They both sat in stunned silence, digesting what the other had said.

"Bobby?" Alex whispered.

"Shh," He put his finger to her lips. "Don't worry, I won't hold you to that. I know you didn't mean it the way it sounded."

"I know exactly how it sounded." Taking a deep breath, she continued. "That is exactly how I meant it. If you didn't then I understand and we can try to forget this conversation, but know this Mr. Robert Goren. I Love You, and I need you and regardless of what you think, you deserve to be loved.

"Oh God Alex" He pulled her into his arms and held on tightly. "I don't think I could handle it if I ever lost you."

Alex pulled back just a little and cupped his face with her hands. "Never!" She said as she leaned in to kiss him for the first time.
