Meh, I was bored. So I wanted to write something about Gaara, my favorite Naruto character. Hope you people like it. And yeah, I know I suck at oneshots.
Oneshot about Gaara
Questions
The large tree beside the field in which children would play games on. The swing attached to the tree. The familiar squeak of the swing when it moved. The red haired boy that was on the swing.
The boy clutched his stuffed animal- a teddy bear- closely as he swung on the swing. He gazed at the laughing children, playing with a ball. He remembered how scared they looked when he asked to play.
"It's Gaara!"
"Run!"
"Get away from him!"
The children's screams of terror echoed painfully in his head. "Why me?" Was a question Gaara asked himself all the time. And it was never answered.
Gaara was always on the swing. He gently pushed himself and it made a squeaking noise. Every time. Every time, he would sit and watch. Every time, he was ignored by the children. Every time. "Why...am I alone?" Another question unanswered.
He had a lot of 'why' questions in his head. All of them were never answered.
Then, a child kicked the ball hard. It was headed straight for Gaara. Gaara looked up and saw it coming. He winced even though he knew he was never going to be hurt.
A wall of sand stopped the ball. Another question. "Why do I never get hurt? Why don't I bleed, like others do?"
The wall of sand fell to the ground. The ball landed in front of Gaara. He dropped his stuffed animal. The ball bounced once before Gaara caught it and held it in his hands. Gaara stood up and walked over to one of the children.
"Here."
The child didn't take it. Instead he ran. Along with the others. The screams were now real instead of in Gaara's memory.
"It's Gaara! Run! Get away!"
"No, wait.." Gaara called. "Why do you run?" again a question. Gaara's life was filled with the unanswered 'why' questions.
He dropped the ball. Now, he couldn't even watch any one. He was now alone. No one was near. A gentle breeze blew. Gaara walked back to the swing. He picked up his teddy bear.
Holding it to eye level, Gaara whispered. "It's just you and me now. No one else." Gaara walked back to the ball. "No one wants to be with me, except you." He told the animal. No response. Gaara looked at the teddy bear sadly. "No..You're just a toy. You don't have feelings. I'm all alone." Gaara corrected himself. A single tear went down his cheek. He wiped it away and sighed. Another tear.
Before he knew it, Gaara was on his knees. He hugged his teddy bear tightly and close to his body. Gaara erupted into tears, tears that had been waiting to be released. "Why?" He cried.
"Why me?" A question that would never be answered. "Why me?"
End.
Man, when I watched the episode when it showed Gaara's past, I felt so sad! You could just hug him! -hugs Gaara- Who else agrees with me?
