Chapter 1

Iggy Pov.

"I think she's dead..." Angel said sadly.

While the rest of the Flock were fighting Erasers and planning on blowing up the School, Angel and I were sent to let out some other experiments. So far hardly any of the mutants have survived, but that wasn't a surprise, seeing how they were caged here in this hell hole.

I listened closely to see if i could hear any breathing, but I heard nothing but Angels and my own breathing and some fighting outside.

Apparently the girl was in a seperate room by herself, she was in a fairly large cage, but had metal bars that glowed a faint yellow, in which a strong volt of electricity coursed through. Burning and shocking anyone who touched it. Trust me it hurt... The room was also very dim and the lights flickered, according to Angel.

"I don't hear anything Angel, I think your right, she's dead," I sighed. Too many experiments have died, we only have let eight mutants out who were still living, but even then just barely alive.

"We still have more rooms to check Iggy, maybe more will live." Angel said, reading my mind.

I stayed silent and just turned around, beginning to walk towards the door of this oddly hot room. I heard Angel's soft footsteps behind me, also retreating to the door.

"Just leave me here then, just like everyone else." The voice was niether Angel's nor mine, the voice was crisp like a cool breeze, yet strong like the wind in a hurricane.

Angel suddenly gasped, "Iggy she disappeared, and the lights went off..." She gripped the arm of my jacket, her heart beating frantically. Angel then took a sharp breath whispering, "Your eyes" her voice was trill and she sounded like she was in a trance,"They're beautiful."

I was utterly confused, being blind and all does not help in these situations, I couldn't do anything but stand there and listen.

"Why thank you Angel," the voice was louder now and more delighted, "Iggy I am terribly sorry, I may of forgot you were blind, maybe you should start acting like it." The girl let out a light chuckle, "I can fix that."

Blazing light filled my eyes, burning and drawing tears. I fought the urge to scream and shut my eyes, willing it to stop. Although, it was the usual dark void I usually saw, it was bright.

I slowly opened my eyes, a blurry image slowly coming together, shapes, outlines, and colors.

A girl in a large cage stared at me, or a little left of my face, smiling. "Sadly it doesn't last for long Iggy." I watched her mouth move in total shock and awe.

I could see.
