Parking Fee
A parody of 'Breaking Free' from High School Musical. Funny, that.

I have Breaking Free set to repeat on my iPod, and I was thinking about how Free sounded like Fee, so this was born.

Disclaimer: High School Musical isn't mine any more than SpongeBob is.

We're cruisin'
Drivin'
Trying to park our car within walking reach
But we reckoned
Without the parking fee

We pay a dollar an hour
To leave our car in a place for a max of two
We have no money on us
Leaves us feeling blue

We drive out
Of the car park
Escaping – or so we believe –
From the parking fee

We're cruisin'
Drivin'
The story's the same in every car park we see
We have to pay
Pay the parking fee
Oh the parking fee ooooh-oh

Time is slowly ticking
So we just stop on the first kerb we find
Running on foot to the theatre
But fate is so unkind so unkind, oooh

That we accidentally park
On a double-yellow line
Starting with round three
With the parking fee

We're cryin'
Shoutin'
The traffic warden is yellin' – he just can't see
That we escaped the
Dreaded parking fee
Oh the parking fee ooooh-oh

We only
Wanted
To get to the place to be all that we can be
Who'd have reckoned
On a parking fee?
A parking fee ooh yeah

We're not willing to please
So they call the police
And together we see them comin'
Undermined, unprepared
Both of us pretty scared
So we run for our lives

We're singin'
Doin'
Time in a prison cell for at least six weeks
High price to pay
For a parking fee parking fee

We only
Ooh, wanted
To drive to the place tobe all that we can be be-ee
Who'd have thought, who'd have thought
About a parking fee?
Oh, a parking fee oooh

If there's one thing we regret now
We just wish that someone would pay the
Bail...
