I don't own Harry Potter JK Rowling is luckly enough to have that privilege but it's not just her books that are great she is to. Okay so this fanfiction is based on the 'Crookshanks was owned by Lily Potter theory.' Oh yes and half of this is based on Mrs. Figg (not boaring i promise.)

The once handsome cat looked through the lake at his reflection. He didn't look anything like he used to be was to put it in words ugly. He had a flat squashed face and his ginger fur was matted so what did he look like Crookshanks could barley remember the only time was that terrible day. Crookshaks lapped up some of the icy water, it's cool water tasting better than anything, so what had happened that horrible day?

Crookshanks had lived with a kind family for many years. The Potters they were called. Lily Potter (his favourite owner) had beautiful red hair and bright green eyes. She gave Crookshanks a calm feeling. But back then he wasn't called Crookshanks he was called Ginger he was named for that was what his pudgy young master had called him.

James Potter (a fairly handsome young man with very scruffy hair) had laughed when going Later Harry had clapped his fat little hands and called Gigner Giger and so Crookshanks was named Ginger. James Potter had put his food outside that night. Ginger was accustomed to this, it was his traddition. Lily Potter had been out that night and came back to see Ginger leaping up at the door. He was strangely like a dog but Lily knew he was half Kneasle perhaps he was also half dog.

Lily Potter put young Mater Harry into her and gave Ginger more food. His pink nose smelt the delicious food and he ate every last crumb. It tasted a little like chicken perhaps that was what it was but Crookshanks could only wish he told young Ginger to run so the Potters would follow and never be destroyed.

It was late when Ginger awoke having fallen asleep on Master James lap. He felt hungry and decided Misses Lily would give him some of that delicious smelling food. He started climbing up the stairs when a draft came across to his face. He looked over to the oak door to see a horrendous looking monster like human. He red pupils, stretched skin and white chalk like lips but that wasn't the worst of it. He didn't seem to need to walk. He was hovering. Hovering? Ginger made the biggest mistake of his life. He started a racket. His Masters awoke and the red-eyed person raised a long willow-wood stick (like Misses Lilys) a blazing red light cut across his face, his whiskers were singed and Master James came down, shoved him aside and faced the man.

To Gingers horror, Misses Lily came down holding Master Harry, James shouted some of his words at Misses Lily. She ran as fast as she could as Master James fell, crumpled on the floor. He was gone. Ginger tried to stop the man comming up the stairs, Master James was gone, he wouldn't get Master Harry or Misses Lily. The man laughed as he saw the cat on the stairs he said words Ginger could only just understand " Kneasle, useful, kill, not, useful. " Ginger couldn't quite understand but the jeering man was laughing he tryed to judge Ginger aside who ended up biting the man's tall, pale legs. The man kicked Ginger in the face who fell unconscious his last thoughts before he fainted were 'Misses Lily Master Harry no... '

Ginger woke to find a tall unfamiliar man or giant. Ginger blinked his vision less fuzzy until he could get the man into view. He was very tall to tall. It's face covered in a shaggy mane of hair. This person was scary. Ginger mustered up all his strength only to follow the thing hoping against hope Misses Lily was okay.

Crookshanks again wished he could tell his younger self not to go. It would be horrible. Ginger followed the strange being upstairs. His blurry vision only showing him the being. Ginger limped to Master Harrys room. The being opened the door. Ginger squinted through the room only to see his beloved Misses Lily on the ground. Ginger put his head under her cold hand. She was gone. Ginger couldn't face th at fact. He knew it was true. There was Misses Lily. She had to be all right. She had to. Ginger already knew there was no hope. He put his paw on her hand as a mark of respect then, turning around, came to see Master Harry clapping his small hands.

The being gently took Master Harry from his cradle. No. Ginger would have to help him, his last living master. Ginger kicked out at the being and next thing he knew, the being had lifted him up in the air. Ginger could see watery tears in his eyes and suddenly, he didn't feel to scared. This being was very tall and strong but Ginger could try to find his weak spot. This being seemed to trust him and the amazing prospect of hurting him left Ginger at once.

Ginger let the being lift him and Master Harry in his large metal purple thing. Master Harry was in the beings arm and he attached a side part to the thing. The being lifted ginger into the side part. There was a peach coloured seat, Ginger sat on this. He felt a little better until the thing started to fly, Ginger saw the being, he looked content and so why couldn't be be fine? Ginger tried to sleep through most of the journey pretend that he was still on Master James lap or he was in Misses Lilys room.

The being seemed to be trying to get Ginger to listen. Ginger opened one she and the being said words Ginger could only just understand, they were many grunts. "Change Name Crookshanks?" Ginger or Crookshanks as we should now call him tilted his head slightly and tell back to sleep.

He awoke to find Master Harry on a doorstep and the being handing him to a strange old lady thing. She had a tartan hair net and was in a flowery dress. Crookshanks found himself in a house full of over cats or half Kneasles Crookshanks didn't know. The old woman had a soft voice. "There there now, I will be taking you to the Magical Minasery in Diagonally then you'll be okay won't you? " Crookshaks didn't know what Diagonally was or what the Magic Minasery or something was either but Crookshanks saw a large bowl of food. What he really needed was water. A bowl was in the corner, he lapped up the delicious sweet drink before starting on the water.
