Just then a large boom sounded across the room and shook the whole house making Peridot shriek and run underneath a table in fear as lighting lite up the sky and the power flickered in synch with the rumbles of thunder. "Peridot, are you still afraid of the thunder storms?" Steven asked while he laughed quietly. "N-No, I'm not afraid of your earth precipitation!" Peridot growled. "I'm just wary of my safety since you said that the electricity produced during these 'rain storms' can be damaging to my gem or my physical form." "I was just looking out for my own wellbeing"
The storm outside continued to rage and tear at the defenseless form of the beach. The electricity faltered once again and then failed all together, sending the house into complete darkness except for the eerie glow of the warp pad in front of the temple door. "Eep" Peridot cried as the lightning once again split the sky and left bright white lines dancing in their vision. Peridot shuddered underneath the table and squeezed her eyes shut and whimpered as the wind picked up outside.
"You're really scared aren't you, Peridot" Steven said with realization as he stared at the small gem underneath the table. "No I'm not!" Peridot retorted in fury as she climbed out from underneath the table. "Fine then I'll go find a flash light stay here'' Steven said as he walked off towards the 'bathroom'.
Peridot shivered as the wind outside picked up speed and thrashed the beach relentlessly. "S-Steven, Could you come back actually, the dim lighting is making my incredibly uncomfortable…" Peridot said as she walked through Steven's room towards the bathroom. "Hang on a sec, Dot. I just need to find a flash light or something so we don't have to sit in the dark until the power comes back on." Peridot looked around the dimly lit bathroom, only to see that the shadows swallowed almost everything surrounding them in the small room.
"Got one!" Steven announced proudly as he straightened and pulled his shirt down to cover his slightly exposed gem. Steven clicked the flash light on and shown the beam of light around the room. He turned the beam towards Peridot who then flailed backwards and fell into the tub pulling the shower curtain down with her. "Ughhhhhhhhhhhh, Steven why did you make such a miscalculation as to point the light harnessers into the radius of my vision spheres." Peridot grumbled as she rubbed her eyes to clear the stars from them.
Peridot pulled her hands away from her eyes and reached her hand out expecting Steven to place the flash light in her palm but after as second dropped it back to her side as she realized Steven intended to keep the flash light with him.
"Hey, Peridot?" Steven asked as he looked up from the flash light in his hand to her face. "Yes, Steven?" Peridot replied as she started to walk out of the bathroom and back to the darkened room before her.
