a/n: Damn plutoondeck, back at it with the Rucas fluff and over used memes. Been MIA for a while. No real reason, but there is this little one-shot that popped into my head. I tried a different style, so let me know what you think.

11.

It feels right.

Her hand in his.

It's always felt safe.

It's always felt like home.

Lucas Friar and Riley Matthews were always meant to be.

In that moment, he knew they would be together for the rest of their lives.

I feel like windows rolled down, new city, streets and cabs
I feel like anything can happen
Laughing

You take me right back
When we were kids
Never thought I'd feel like this

"Tell me something."

"What?"

"Why have you been single all this time?"

"Why?"

"Yeah why? You're a good looking guy and incredibly sweet."

"Riley."

"I mean obviously you've had plenty of sex since the last time we were together, but how come I've never heard of a girlfriend in college? Or finding someone while you were traveling the world."

"You want the honest truth Riley?"

"Yeah."

"Then you be honest about what had happened with your ex-fiancée."

"Alright fair deal."

"There wasn't anyone else like you. Riley, you're my best friend in the world. Why would I look for a new one? Sure there were girls that were good company for a while, but I'm not sure they would have encouraged me to fight tombstone."

"Come on, that's when we were kids."

"I feel like I'm a kid again with you."

"We're adults."

"Yeah, but I'd rather be an adult with you."

"You're too much."

"Your turn."

"Honestly, I left him because he wasn't you..."

Pause.

"He could never fill the void you left in me."

Like when I close my eyes
And don't even care if anyone sees me dancing
Like I can fly
And don't even think of touching the ground

Lucas woke up to movement all around him. He was still lying on the bed in his towel after his and Riley's bath. He'd think spending hours in bed together and then taking a long relaxing bath would energize the man. Then again, he remembers the cardio exercise that happened during that same time and he couldn't help to beam pridefully.

"I hope your order from the Chinese place is the same," Riley said breaking him from his sex-filled tranced. He sat up facing her. She was sitting criss-crossed apple sauce style wearing his old John Hopkins sweater that he given her after his first year of med school. Her long brown was tied up in a messy bun. Her face radiated in the gloom coming from her bay window. He looked outside at the rain. It's funny how he didn't notice the weather when there was a perfect day of sunshine in front of him.

Riley caught him staring at her.

"What?" She asked handing him two take-out carton full of orange chicken, white rice, and a pair of chopsticks.

"You're beautiful," he said as he pulled apart the chopsticks and began picking at his food.

"Thanks," she blushed. "You're awfully cheesy lately."

"That's what happens when the one thing I want in the world happens."

"Oh, what's that?" She says picking on her food.

"You and I finally together." She stopped. He plucks a small piece of chicken with his chopsticks, and offers it to her. She happily ate it.

"We're together now?" She teased.

"Oh shut up." He said leaning forward kissing her. She tasted of orange chicken and dreams coming true.

Lucas woke up before she did that morning. He was facing the wall with Riley spooning from him behinds. He could feel her arms loosely wrapped around his waist, her breast pushed up against his back, her breath warming a small spot against his back. He wanted every morning to be like this.

He knew something in their relationship shifted overnight, and years ago, he would've been afraid what this means.

However this morning, Lucas knew it exactly what was going to happen.

He turned his body to face her. Moving his arm to let Riley use him like a pillow.

"'orning," she mumbled into his side. He kissed her temple.

"Morning," he smiled.

"You hungry?"

"No, I'd rather stay in bed," he ran his hand down her bare waist.

"Luke..." she started, but he cut her off.

"Can you blame me Riles?" He squeezed her breast eliciting a moan from the tall girl next to her.

"Guess not. Good thing it's my day off." They stayed silent again. He rolled on top of her kissing her neck.

"Hey Luke?" She closed her eyes enjoying his kisses.

"Yeah babe?" The pet name felt right for the both of them.

"I think you should move in," she said. He stopped showering her with his kisses and pulled back to look her in the eye.

"I wasn't planning on leaving," he said confidently.

"Good," she smiled up at him. She pushed her lips onto his.

"Riley?"

"Yeah babe?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."

They're naked and sweaty on the couch. He's sitting in the middle on the couch. She's straddling him on top of him. She had her arms around him and was giggling at something. They hadn't finished very long ago.

"That was fun," she mindlessly commented and suddenly he's laughing along with her. It's silly and life with Riley had always been silly. He effortlessly lifted her up as he stands up.

"Lucas!" She squealed. He hoist her over his shoulder fireman style. "What are you doing?!"

He grunted in response giving her bottom a good smack. A flashback of their senior spring break in the Minkus' Hampton house flashed into their minds. (Lucas and Zay had carried her and Maya into the pool on their last night.)

Then she's laughing again. He took her to her old bedroom and tossed her on the bed. She's too busy laughing to notice the serious look of nostalgia on his face. This wasn't the first time they had done this... sex. They had a friends with benefits deal back in high school. They had lost their virginities to each other when he was seventeen, but something had held them back from actually getting into a relationship.

What that was?

Lucas couldn't remember. Not when he was staring at the incredible and nude woman before him.

"Lucas?" Riley's voice broke him out of his thoughts.

"I'm not afraid Riles," he said adamantly. Her eyes rose in bewilderment.

"Afraid of what?" She asked as he crawls on top of her.

"Of admitting I'm in love with you," he said before kissing her.

It started with a peck on the nose. They had shifted position on the couch where Lucas had his legs open with Riley sitting in between them. He had his arms around her while she laid her head on the crook of her neck. She was snoring peacefully as the credits for the movie rolled by. He thought she looked so cute as she cuddled into him. She shifted slightly facing her face towards him. He had the urge to wake her up and kiss her senselessly, but he opted lightly kiss her nose.

Her eyes fluttered open.

"Hey," he says softly.

"Hi," she smiles.

"Hi," he repeats reminding him of middle school.

"Hey," she giggles. There's a peacefully silence, and she squirms around again.

"Let go," she says playfully.

"I don't wanna," he teases.

"Come on Luke," she attempted to wiggle her way out. However he held her tightly.

"Make me," he challenged. She pouted, but suddenly she got an idea. He smiled involuntarily at her face expression change.

She turned her neck to start kissing his neck.

In that moment, Lucas knew he was a goner.

They're sitting in her living room watching Stand By Me. It's her all time favorite movie, and they're been watching it together since middle school. They started off at different ends of the couch, but because Riley had an inability to sit still. She was now laying her head on his lap. He's running his fingers through her hair.

"This," he says outloud.

"Hmm?" She hums in response.

"I could do this forever."

Time will always try to make us
You remind me what I used to know

04.

"You regret it?"

"What?"

"Not getting married."

"Do you see Seth around?"

"Uh no..."

"Trust me. If I didn't call it off. He would have."

"Who wouldn't want to marry you?"

"Says the guy who didn't want to date me in high school."

"Hey!"

"It's a true story."

"What if I wanted to date you now?"

"Obviously you've had too much to drink."

"Riley you haven't even opened up the wine yet."

"Oh shut up."

He was staying with Riley "for the time being". His parents had moved back to Texas during Lucas' second year of college. He had already gone to see them. Zay actually lived in New Jersey with his longtime girlfriend and only came up to see Lucas return. Farkle and his wife had just had their first child, so they believed Lucas probably would be better off somewhere else. Maya was married to a guy she had met in art school, and they lived in a small studio off of Chelsea that didn't have much space for a third person.

Riley lived in her parent's old apartment. Her parents had moved back to Philadelphia after her grandpa Allen had passed away to be closer to her grandma Amy. Auggie was in California attending college. Because she now was the manager at Topanga's (Katy and Shawn were now travel bloggers), her parents let her rent out their old home.

"You're in here," Riley said opening up Auggie's old room. Lucas noticed there was a change in decor. It was longer reminiscent of a playful pirate fantasy, but a teenage computer gamer's dream.

"Do you stay in your parent's old room?" He asked curiously.

"No," she shook her head. "No, I like my old room better."

"Really?"

"I mean, I live alone, but when I sit at the bay window I don't feel lonely."

Something about her smile ignites a fire in Lucas.

They hadn't dated in fifteen years, but something in Lucas' mind thinks that's about to change.

After spending years traveling and going on medical missions, he had finally moved back to New York. He'd been home a couple times over the years, notable occurrences were the weddings of their friends. He even came for Riley's almost wedding (which ended due to her cold feet).

Something about the way she's staring at him as he recites a story in Thailand.

Or the way Farkle and Maya exchange sly glances.

Or the way Zay smirked at him when he thought Riley wasn't looking.

(But most likely it was the way, he hadn't let go of Riley's hand since the five of them walked into Topanga's.)

Brand new, yeah, yeah, yeah
And I feel brand new
I feel brand new
I feel brand new

01.

It was a sign.

Literally a sign.

Riley Matthews held up a sign with his name written neatly with a blue sharpie. She beamed brightly when she noticed him walking out of the terminal.

"Lucas!" She screamed as she ran towards him. He placed his duffel bag down anticipating her jump. She opened her arms up running towards him, and he did the same. She was about to jump into his arms when she misstepped and fell directly in front of him.

"Ah!" She screamed in surprise. He quickly squatted down to pick up his face-planted friend.

"Riley! Oh god, are you okay?" He tried not to laugh at her. She shook her head.

"I'm fine!" She squealed blushing red while passer-byers watched them curiously. He reached down to help her up. She put her small hand into his large callous filled one.

"Twenty-eight year old and still the clumsiest person I've ever met," he chuckled as he pulled her up.

"Yeah... But you know you missed it," she tucked her hair behind her ears. She looked down at their still connected hands.

"That I did." She reached out to cup his face and his leaned down to kiss her forehead.

"I've missed you so much Riley Matthews."
