Sonny's Lie (1/1)
"I've just got a bad feeling about this, Sonny," Carly Corinthos said as she watched her husband get dressed. "What if it's a trap?"
Sonny Corinthos chuckled. "Sweetheart, it's perfectly safe. We're meeting at the PC Grille, out in the open. Sorel isn't stupid enough to do anything there."
"I don't know. The guy is slipping, you said so yourself."
Sonny raised an eyebrow and looked at Carly. "Eavesdropping again?"
Carly smirked. "Not like you make it hard, meeting in our livingroom and all," she replied.
Sonny shook his head and bent over to kiss Carly. "I'll be back soon."
Carly threw her arms around Sonny's neck and pulled him into a deeper kiss. "Sure I can't convince you to stay?" she asked in a low sultry voice.
"I'm sure," Sonny answered as he extracted himself from her arms. "Love you."
"I love you, too. Be careful," Carly said.
"I will be."
"Promise me."
"I promise you, Carly, I'll be fine."
"See you later," Carly said as she watched her husband leave. She had never expected to really love Sonny. Love his money and power, yes. Him, no. And she had a sickening feeling she would never see him again.

"So, do we have a deal, Josef?" Sonny said, less than an hour later. The meeting had gone quickly, which made Sonny a little uneasy. But he wasn't about to complain.
"Yes, we do. You get control of the docks south of Elm Street, but I get control of the docks north of Elm Street. You don't interfere with my area, I don't interfere with yours," Josef Sorle replied, leaning back in his seat.
"Don't forget, my warehouses are left alone, even though their north of Elm," Sonny added.
"Yes, you're warehouses are safe from me," Sorel sneered.
"Then I guess we're done here."
"Yes, you are done."
Sonny started to raise his glass to his lips, but stopped as Sorel's exact words registered. He jumped to his feet just as the first shots were fired.
Screams filled the Grille. When the gun shots finally stopped, blood soaked into the carpet. Sonny layed on the floor, clutching his hand to the wound in his chest. He stared up at Sorel. "Bastard," he gasped out.
Sorel laughed and pointed his gun at Sonny's head. "I said you were done. The territory is mine." He smiled and pulled the trigger.

Carly had just put Micheal to bed, and was reading a magazine when the door to the penthosue opened and a blood covered Johnny walked in. "Johnny?" she asked, shakily.
"It was a double cross," Johnny said, looking Carly straight in the eyes. "I'm sorry."
"Not Sonny! Not Sonny!" Carly screamed.
"I'm sorry," Johnny repeated.
Carly sank to the floor, still screaming. She didn't notice when Johnny sat down next to her and embraced her. She didn't hear Micheal's wails from upstairs. All she heard was Sonny's promise to be safe. Sonny's lie.
