"Almost Invincible"

This takes place during the final battle, (very) close to the end. Enjoy!
I had always though that she was invincible... Untouchable.
She could manipulate the earth in such an amazing way, that nobody could land a single hit on her.
When they were on the ground.
I thought she was invincible until I saw that arrow fly towards her already charred back, and her eyes widen, as she fell to the ground. I looked back at the small body, curled up in my arms, clinging to my neck.
She had never seemed this small to me. She was Toph, and she laughed at me, jeered, and beat me up at every possible chance she had. She had seemed strong... Tall... Invincible. But when I saw her like this... Lying on my back, (luckily) still conscious, breathing heavily... Arms clinging weakly to my neck, head limp (but resting on my shoulder), she seemed anything but the strong girl I knew. I had managed to find an overhang for us to hide in, it was almost sure that nobody would find us here with the havoc outside. I laid her down on the ground, and stood back up.
"Sokka?"
I heard her voice, raspy and forced. I turned to her.
"Yeah?"
"You aren't leaving, are you?"
I smiled, in spite of myself, and sat down.
"Nope."
She sighed, and seemed almost content.
"I was sorta stupid, wasn't I?"
I grinned, and answered,
"Sure were."
She was lucky, I had already checked the wound. It was fairly deep, but not fatal. She probably wouldn't be able to walk so easily just quite yet. She pouted.
"Thanks for the encouragement, Meatbrain."
"Meatbrain? That's a new one."
"I just thought of it. I figured it was fitting."
I groaned.
"Great. Another nickname."
She laughed, but it quickly turned into a cough.
"You okay?"
She nodded, and I sighed in relief. She punched me lightly. I knew she would be fine.
