Prologue

Note: This story is based off of a game that, as of today, is still in development. It will likely be incomplete, inconsistent, or both, at least until the official release date of said game.

If you faced death, what would you do? Would you fight it with all your might, despite knowing you could never win? Or would you flee, find another place to live, somewhere where you're safe from the threat you ran from? Or, would you study it, understand it, befriend it...what would you do if you had to survive?

Some say hard times change you, mold you into something you never were. Others say they're new chances to explore, to unlock the mysteries of a life long past. Some still may say they're a warning that something worse lies further, and that if you reach too far, the threat you ran from may return.

What do you think? If you were stranded on a planet, on an island, with nothing but the cloths on your body, what would you do? …that is a question I used to ask myself a lot. Until, one day, I no longer had to ask it.

Were my prologues always this short? Anyways, hello everyone! This time, I decided to write about a relatively new game, one that's so new, it's not even complete yet! A bit of a risky move, maybe, but one I'm willing to make. The name of the game, as said in my summary, is Aground, and if you haven't checked it out, I suggest you do. The game has a relatively straight-forward progression line, but it also branches out, so I'll likely be switching back and forth between branches. I hope it doesn't get too confusing!

Anyways…for those of you who are new, welcome! For those of you who aren't…I suppose I'll take this time to apologize for being inactive for so long. Writing take a lot of energy, focus, and creativity, somethings which I've found myself lacking recently. Whatever that reason is, it means I've had trouble continuing the stories I've left unfinished, even though I'm starting a new one. But, worry not, I haven't abandoned them, and plan to eventually finish those that I'm still interested in!

Now, with that out of the way…since this game is still under development, the story will be updated as the game is, meaning new chapters may stall as I run out of things to write about. In fact, I may end up back-tracking throughout the story, or filling in "plot holes" at a much later date. I'm hoping this won't affect the quality, but who knows?

I think that's enough rambling for now…I've already got an author's note bigger than the actual chapter (who does that, anyways? Apparently I do). Hopefully I'll get a real chapter out soon, but as of now it's far too late to keep working. Remember: I love criticism, reviews encourage me, and I'm open to input. Bye for now!
