A/N based on the song For Always, Forever by Every Avenue
Tom and I were driving around doing nothing, it was summer and 4 o'clock in the morning, and we couldn't sleep. We had just signed a record deal with a new recording company. Though now we were finally free to be ourselves. Even though we acted mature around the others, we could always act like our immature selves around each other.
"Where do you want to go?" I said taking my eyes off the road for a second to look at my twin.
"Nothing's opened, why don't we head down to the old playground."
"Okay" I turned the corner at Woodward heading to the playground we use to go to when we were kids, just to sit on the swings and dream about what the future would be like. I pulled up in a parking spot and we got out.
"Come on." he said while running ahead of me. He might not seem like it but he can be so childish. I grinned and ran to catch up with him.
We sat on the swing, dragging our feet across the ground thinking about the past, thinking about how young and stupid we were, but how we got to where we wanted.
"If you could go back, would you change anything?" I said not looking at my twin keeping my eyes on the ground as we went back and forth slowly.
I looked at my twin and smiled
"I wouldn't change it for the world" Bill looked at me
"I was hoping you would say that" he laughed. He jumped up from the swing and ran over to the monkey bars and started to climb up on top of them, hooking his feet on the bars he pulled himself up on top of them.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I yelled at him
"I DONT KNOW...BUT ITS FUN YOU SHOULD TRY IT!" he yelled back.
I shook my head, he's such a child, and got up; I walked over and stood underneath the bars.
"You're going to fall." I stated simply, he wouldn't care.
"What's the point in living in fear Tomi, we didn't when we were younger." He tilted his head to the side giving me the I-know-you-want-to look.
I shook my head in defeat, and sighed "fine" I climbed up and sat next to my brother our feet swinging side by side in the air.
"So what do you think?"Bill asked looking at Tom
"About what?" he said staring back at him.
"Now, the past, the future?"
"All I can simply say is, we made it this far." Tom said.
"And we are doing alright."
"Hey were not dead... yet." they laughed.
Bill shook his head "We've made our share of mistakes."
"But we never betrayed our hearts," Tom smiled slightly, as a few memories flashed through his head.
"We had our fights, where we don't talk for days, but we make up anyway." Bill stated remembering a fight, with pots and pans, a lamp and a lot of bruises. They hadn't talked for almost a week, but in the end they just couldn't stay apart, and Bill ended up sleeping in his brother's bed curled up next to him.
"For always..." he looked at Bill
"Forever." He said back at Tom, and then looked at the rising sun. "Hey look the sun is rising."
Both of the twins look at the sun as it colored the darkness in a rainbow. Both not thinking, or caring about the day that had just woke up, but just 'being' there together.
"It feels good" Bill said suddenly.
"What does?" Tom replied, both not taking their eyes off of the coming light
"Knowing I'll always have you by my side"
Tom looked at his twin, his other half, and smiled staring back into the same brown eyes as him. "Always, and forever no matter what"
And the two brothers looked back at the coming sun. Not worrying about what was to come or what had happened...all they knew was they had each other, and that was all that was needed for them to survive this crazy world.
