Wandering the halls had always been a favorite past time of Harry's, especially at night. He had been preoccupied with his relationship problems with Ginny, and had decided that he would take a nice walk to clear his mind and help him think.
Harry and Ginny had been together for almost a year. It's not that he didn't have feelings for her anymore, he just didn't feel that special spark anymore that had been there when they first got together, and they didn't have much to talk about anymore.
Perhaps it had been the scare of potential death that was present under Voldemort's reign of terror that they had just rushed into a relationship without waiting to see how things would develop, first. From the very beginning, Harry had a feeling that something like this was almost expected to happen. Neither of them had really thought this out.
'Maybe I should just end it,' he thought to himself. 'It would probably be best for both of us.'
He had been so deep in his thoughts that he didn't notice another student turn the corner at the same time as he did. They both bumped into each other, and Harry toppled over while the other boy caught his balance in time to remain standing.
Harry stood up and took out his wand at lightning speed. The other boy raised his wand, and both whispered, "Lumos." the two wand tops ignited, and Harry was able to see his assaulter clearly.
"Potter!" Malfoy spat.
"Malfoy," Harry said coolly.
"Why are you out so late?" asked Malfoy.
"I don't know that that's any of your business, Malfoy," said Harry.
Malfoy narrowed his eyes. What's wrong, the Weaslette finally dump you?"
"Hardly," said Harry. "Speaking of girl troubles, what about you? Did Parkinson give you the boot?"
Malfoy mad a noise in the back of his throat. "As if I would touch someone that skanky. No, I'm out her to escape from her. I couldn't blame her, though. How can anyone resist this?" He ran his hands down the sides of his body.
Harry felt his face flush, but said nothing.
"I guess we could both do better," Malfoy said, looking past Harry. His tone wasn't harsh at all, like it usually was, but rather soft, gentle, pensive.
Harry cleared his throat rather loudly. He had gotten the impression that Malfoy was talking more to himself, and had forgotten that he was there.
He looked back at Harry his eyes glossy and unfocused.
"Ginny's not a bad girlfriend," Harry stated.
"It's not that. It's just that I've noticed the two of you growing apart. And me and Pansy, well... we were never really a thing. She's not really my type, if you know what I mean." He took a few steps towards Harry. They were only inches apart now...
Harry felt his stomach flutter. "Well, what is your type?"
Draco raised a hand up to cup Harry's cheek, rubbing his thumb along his cheekbone.
"Boys... who live."
And then Draco's lips were on Harry's and there mouths were moving in perfect harmony. Their tongues danced together in the heat of their passion. They stayed together like that until they had to break apart for air.
Panting, Harry said, "Well, at least this will make my decision to break things off with Ginny easier."
