I recently rediscovered the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack and I forgot how much I love He Mele No Lilo, which roughly translates to Lullaby of the Lost. Anyway, the song made me think of Lilo and Stitch, and Tumblr made me think of the relationship between TenToo, Rose, and Tony, and how cute it'd be for some bonding time.
"Doctor, have you got the popcorn?"
"Yep! Is the blanket and pillow fort ready?"
"What d'you think I spent the past few minutes putting together?"
"Just asking!"
"TONY! GET DOWN YOUR BUM DOWN 'ERE! MOVIE TIME!"
The boy comes clamoring downstairs, immediately diving into the safe haven of blankets and pillows, eager eyes watching as Rose pushes a DVD into the player and retires into the fort with him. Tony clambers onto her lap and her arms wind around him, but not before ruffling up his soft dishwater-blond hair. "Doctor, you comin' or not?"
"Here I am!" he exclaims, somehow managing to fit his lanky body into the small space left over. Tony reaches out immediately, claiming a handful of popcorn from the bag.
Once the commercials are over, Rose smiles with a childish joy as she sings along with the song—He Mele No Lilo. Tony glances back at her with wide eyes. "Rosie? What does it mean?"
She tells him about it quietly. "The song talks about Kalākaua and his successor, Lili'uokalani. It also talks about the beauty and sacredness of their home. It's basically just praisin' Hawaii. Pretty, isn't it?"
He nods very seriously, and they watch in silence except for the occasional munching of popcorn. They all dance when Burning Love plays, and then it's Tony's bedtime. He runs upstairs without much arguing, because he knows he's under threat of them telling his mum if he refuses. Rose gives him a kiss on the cheek and the Doctor gives him a hug.
They lay downstairs for a while longer, watching Disney movies until the front door opens and Jackie walks into to find them tearing up at Wall-E. She shakes her head at them and only announces herself when the movie ends. She bids them goodnight. Blushing, stumbling over their words, and making excuses, they pull down the fort and run upstairs. It's only when they're back in the bedroom that Jackie keeps for when they're not traveling that they collapse, laughing. And then they're kissing, and somewhere they've lost their clothes, and only after they've both hit that moment of Earth-shaking euphoria do they fall asleep, not to wake until the morning light.
