*The day comes for Brendan to meet Leah, Lucas and Amy*

"What time will they be here?"

"I told them 2pm"

"Good gives me just enough time" Brendan says as he grabs his coat and heads out the door

"Where you going?"
"You'll see"

*The kids and Amy arrive dead on 2 but Brendan's no where to be seen*

"This is a nice house but where's this mystery hunk of yours?"

"I don't know he went out like 2 hours ago and I haven't seen or heard from him since."

"Daddy! Me and Lucas bought you a present!" Leah chirps with a lovely sunny smile handing her daddy a present wrapped in Disney wrapping paper. Ste unwraps it to find a pair of Mickey Mouse ears and Daffy duck slippers.

The door suddenly opens and Brendan appears carrying a lot of bags.

"You must be Amy, Nice to meet you." Brendan says trying to offer out a hand.

"You must be Brendan, these are our kids Leah and Lucas"

Brendan crouches down and looks at Leah. "You must be Lucas" he looks over to Lucas "and you must be Leah"

Leah laughs "No silly! I'm Leah and he's Lucas!"

Brendan pulls a face and laughs "Silly me" He empties the bags onto the floor, revealing lots of treat foods like sweets, crisps and sandwiches etc. "How about a teddy bears picnic?"

"But we don't have any teddy bears. They're all at home"

"Oh dear, well what am I going to do with these little fellas?" He says bringing out 5 new toys. 1 polar bear with a tiara, 1 dinosaur, a black cat with bright green eyes, a tiger for Ste and a shark for himself.

He gives Leah the polar bear, Lucas the dinosaur and Amy the black cat.

Leah squeals in delight when she gets her polar bear "Thank you! I love her!" She says squeezing her teddy tight. "Lucas loves dinosaurs don't you Lucas. Say thank you"

"Fank you!" He whispers shyly with his thumb in his mouth.

Amy laughs when she receives her black cat and thanks him too.

"So kids shall we have a teddy bears picnic?"

"YEAH!" Leah yells excitedly

Brendan goes into the kitchen to put the food onto paper plates and Ste goes to give him a hand.

"So this is what you were up to?"

"Yeah"

Ste looks behind him and sees the kids and Amy are busy playing with their toys. He leans over and gives Brendan a big kiss on the lips. "Thank you"

Brendan blushes "No problem, now let's get this lot feed" He says carrying everything in.

Leah starts feeding her polar bear carefully, giving her a napkin to keep her clean. Brendan serves her and the polar bear with a bow calling them both princesses and he calls Lucas a knight with his pet dinosaur and pretends to cower when Lucas prods the dinosaur in his face and lets out a feeble roar.

Lunch finishes and the kids quietly play with their new toys while the grownups have a chat.

"So how long have you known each other?"

"About a month and a half but we've only been dating for about 3 weeks" Brendan says winking privately at Ste when Amy isn't looking

"Why didn't you tell me about him sooner?"
"As I said Ames, I didn't think we would be serious. I just wanted to see where it went"

"Have you two.. Yano?"

Ste looks over at the kids who are innocently playing. "No, not yet"

"Well don't keep the poor guy waiting"

"I don't mind. I'm willing to wait as long as Steven needs to"

"Really?" Amy says

"Really" Brendan replies smiling, holding onto Ste's hand. "Because I know the wait will be worth it no matter how long"

Amy and the kids eventually go home and there's hugs all around. Amy whispers into Ste's in "You've got a good one there, don't keep him hanging too long"

Ste thinks about it all night.
