ON THE SEARCH FOR HORCRUXES

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

Hermione Granger's parents didn't know she existed. In fact, they didn't even know they had a daughter. Hermione thinks this over and over again as she lies in bed. She is on the search for horcruxes with Harry and Ron. She erased her parents' memories so that Voldemort wouldn't be able to torture them. Hermione forces herself not to cry; she doesn't want Harry and Ron to hear her. So she quietly went into the small bathroom inside the tent. She started to cry, and didn't stop crying for what seemed like forever.

Harry wakes up and hears something strange; it almost sounds like someone crying. He gets out of his bed and finds that Hermione's bed is empty.

"Ron!" Harry tries to wake Ron up. "RON! RON!" He is getting more and more nervous about what has happened to Hermione. He decide to go find her, when Ron finally wakes up.

"Wha-Harry? Is that you?" Ron says with half-opened eyes.

"Hermione isn't in bed," Harry explains quickly, "I thought I heard someone crying, but.." Harry gasps and realizes what this must mean. "You don't think that's Hermione crying, do you?" Harry and ron exchange worried looks and immediately follow the sound of crying to the bathroom.

Harry can hear it clearly now. That is definitely Hermione crying, Harry thinks to himself.

He knocks on the door softly, not wanting to scare her. "Hermione, please come out."

No response.

"OI! OPEN THE DOOR NOW!" Ron yells as he pounds on the door.

Hermione sighs, realizing they would literally break down the door if she didn't answer. She tries to wipe away the last of her tears, and opens the door.

She sees Harry and Ron's concerned faces, and then she collapses, everything turning black.

"HERMIONE!" Ron yells and runs forward to catch her just before she hits the ground. Harry pulls out his wand instinctively and casts a feather light charm on her. Together, Harry and Ron carefully carry her and set her onto her bed.

Hermione wakes up, noticing that Harry and Ron are crouched down beside her bed.

"What happened to me?" she asks.

"You fainted," Harry explains. "We could hear you crying, and when you opened the door, you fell backwards. Ron reached you just before you hit the floor."

"Oh," Hermione says, "Well, erm, thanks."

"Hermione, why were you crying?" Ron asks.

Oh no, she thinks, I was hoping they wouldn't bring that up.

"Oh, well, no reason really, it was just..." Tears silently fall out of her brown eyes.

Harry gives her a quick hug. "It's okay, Hermione, you can tell us."

Hermione is now crying uncontrollably. "My parents! They don't remember me! I had to wipe their memories so Voldemort couldn't torture them!" she cries.

This is all my fault, Harry thinks, she wouldn't have to do that if it weren't for me.

"Hermione," Harry starts, "I'm really sorry, I didn't know..."

Ron sits there and takes in everything that she just said. He thinks about how painful it must be to have parents that don't even know who you are. So he does the first thing that comes to his mind.

Ron moves closer to her and kisses her passionately. Harry just sits there awkwardly, not knowing if he should leave or not, and then they break apart.

"Oh, Ron.." Hermione says and starts to cry again.

"Shhh, it's okay, we're here for you," he says and hugs her.

Hermione wipes away her tears and smiles as she realizes that she may not have parents, but at least she has two amazing best friends.
