Kenny had always been a dark figure in my life, full of mysteries and surprises. Something drew me to him, how he was so corrupted, his innocence gone, just like the love a parent should give their son. But he never ceased to smile. Like, no matter how bad things got, or how horribly he was treated, there was always something to smile about and I needed that, that little reassuring smile. He was always a shadow behind me, waiting for me to fall so he could pick me up again and without so much as a word, he would disappear again into the shadows.
The first time in my 17 years of knowing Kenny, I made his smile vanish. We were in my room when I told him I was pregnant with Cartman's baby.
