Hi guys! So, if this story looks familiar, let just point out that I did NOT steal this story from another user. I AM that user. My username was jpjordicat, but that account is no longer active, because I had a P.O.V. story, which means I violated copyright rules. So this story was deleted when my account was, so I am re-writing it. I will hopefully make it better, and change a couple of things up. I hope you enjoy!

CHAPTER ONE: THE CURSE

TESSA'S P.O.V.

"Bring her back! Bring her back, or I swear I will stab you repetitively in the eye until you die!" Tessa Gray screamed at the monster. Her Aunt Harriet lay in her arms, still and cold.

The creature snickered. "I can't do that, little girl. Do I need to repeat what I said? Because you didn't seem to get my point." His voice was raspy and it sent shivers up her spine, despite the sweat that coated her entire body. His blue skin still seemed the most odd to her, even more than the multiple eyes.

"No! I know what you said! But I did nothing wrong!"

"To clarify, I said; I curse you. All who love you will die. Their love will be their destruction. It may take moments, it may take years, but any who look upon you with love will die of it, unless you remove yourself from them forever. And I shall begin with her."

Tears started to spill out of Tessa's eyes. The sight of this creature was so surreal, she couldn't comprehend what it was saying. A curse? Where no one could love her? How can she make the people that already love her, stop?

Nate. She was supposed to visit him in London, but she can't go now. This... curse had been proven to work right in front of her eyes!

"GET OUT!" She screamed until her throat was raw. Her necklace was ticking, the wings scratching her collarbone. The blue monster disappeared into thin air, and Tessa looked into her aunts eyes one more time before closing them.

Dear Nate,

Thank you so much for inviting me and Aunt Harriet to London to visit you. We were looking forward to it, but it must not happen now. There has been an inconvenience that needs to be attended to. It will be a long time before we can visit again, and I cannot explain it to you at the moment. I have no idea what is going on, and I need time to think. Just know that when the boat arrives in two days time, I will not be there.

Sincerely, Tessa and Aunt Harriet.

She could not bear to tell Nate of Aunt's passing. She knew he would find out sometime, but hopefully she will not be the one to tell him. Hopefully, one day he will return here, and she will leave and someone else will tell him of her passing.

The next few days were very stressful. Tessa had to arrange a burial for Aunt with the last of her budget. She had only what she needed to survive, but that was good enough. She didn't go the burial, because her friends would be there. People who could possibly love her, and she couldn't risk that kind of damage.

She went back to her tiny house and grabbed her bicycle. She rode away until she couldn't feel her legs, but there was no turning back.
