Written for the Holiday Spirit: Christmas Boot Camp prompt #28 (pie) and the Twelve Days of Christmas part 6 #5.

First Bite

She gave him a funny look. "You've never had pie before?"

Draco rolled his eyes. "Of course I've had pie before! Who in their right mind hasn't? But I'm not a fan of it Hermione. I much prefer cake."

"Ah, so you have a sweet tooth?"

"Not really. I just dislike the taste of pie."

"That's because you've never had my pie," she said, tapping his nose. Hermione invited her boyfriend over today specifically to have him taste his first bite of good, decent pie. After learning that he didn't eat it she insisted he try her special recipe. She almost had a heart attack when it started sounding like he'd never even had pie before.

"I'm not so sure about this anymore," he groaned, watching her pull out the pie from the oven. She used a cooling charm to make it bearable to eat and then cut two large slices, bringing them over to him. "What kind is it?"

"Pumpkin for the holiday," she replied, smiling. "Go on then, take a bite."

"I'm still not too sure."

"Don't be afraid of it, it's just a slice of pie. You even requested that I make it pumpkin!"

"Yeah, but-"

"Don't make all of my hard work go to waste Draco," she teased, sitting back in her chair. He sighed, giving up. She was never going to stop bothering him until he took a bite.

He just wasn't a fan of pie? Is that so bad? Why did Hermione have to-

His thoughts were cut off as he actually took his first bite of pie. "This is- this is actually really good darling," he said, taking a second bite before finishing his first. She laughed.

"See? You've been missing out on the wonderful world of pie!"

"Mhmm."

She laughed again at how happy he looked. If she knew pie was the way to keep Draco completely happy, she would've done this immediately. "So is pie an okay desert from now on?"

"Of course- you've never tried making blueberry pie before, have you?"

Hermione rolled her eyes, taking her first bite of pie. Maybe she would live to regret this. She might've made a pie monster.
