The Impossible Girl
Biting her lip, Clara waited. She had no idea what she was waiting for. All she knew was that it was a man. No - not a man...but fate. Clara was waiting for fate...
By the time Clara had fallen asleep on the couch, the Doctor was on his way to Earth. Tempted by a mysterious feeling, he jumped into his Tardis and off he flew. All of time and space was waiting - so why was he on his way to a small village in Oxford, 2013? He had so many questions in his heart but nobody could answer them. In all the Doctor's nine hundred and ninety years, no urge had been quite so strong.
As the Tardis came to a halt outside a cottage, the Doctor could feel both of his hearts beating, drumming against his chest. He adjusted his bow die and stood up straight. Stumbling across the road, he could feel his breath halted in the back of his throat.
'Stop being silly,' he told himself. 'There is nothing to be afraid of. I mean, come on, buddy, you fought the Daleks, for crying out loud!' He halted outside a paint-chipped blue door. 'Blue - it's blue,' he thought. Again, he stood up straight and held his shoulders back. He checked the time on his watch before he made a sharp tap on the door. He had no idea who or what was inside. Out loud, he made a list.
'Daleks, Cybermen. No, no, no, no, no...too common,' he said, pressing his hands to his temples. 'The Silence? No, no - I would know if it was them. Ood, Weeping Angel... Well, it's possible...'
There was just one thing the Doctor didn't want to think that could be in there. It was impossible, she was impossible.
Just as the door opened, the Doctor looked.
It couldn't be... It just couldn't... No, no...this was not happening.
'Doctor,' she said, smiling, not matching his serious look.
'Clara,' he said.
Her smile melted to a feeble one. 'Ready?' she asked.
He suddenly gave a faint laugh. 'Nope.'
