So… it's my first attempt to something weird like that. It's inspired about real life and the season of the Orichalcos, when Yami lose his sanity because Yûgi's been captured. It made me think : What would happen if Yûgi choose to never meet his darker half, or believed Yami too dangerous to letting him do duels? Would Yami became like Yami Bakura or Yami Marik? Would have he accepted to fall into oblivion?

This little one-shot is what I think could have happened.

Disclaimer : I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh! but I do own cards, mangas, and games!

Look at him. Look at what you've done to his soul. He's broken, can't you see? All alone in the darkness that is his mind, he doesn't seem to know that he's slowly and painfully falling from grace.
Have you forgot him? Have you forgot this little part of your past that never seemed to forget you? Don't you feel pity or remorses?
Don't answer yes to this last question. You would only destroy him more with your stupid lies.
His heart is broken in hundred of pieces, and now, he have to solve it like a puzzle. You cannot help him in this task, so don't try to. Don't pretend to.
Don't pretend that you care when this is only a task for you. He's not like you anymore, he don't belong to your world of joy and light. Your life were not his, as he's no longer your other. His story started in light, like yours. But unlike yours, the story became a tragedy.

So much people tried to crush him ; to destroy what was left of his sanity and his own light. You're now the only one who can balance the darkness of his soul. But you forgot him, and let the shadows take all away from him.

Isn't it strange? You are believed to be the best and most innocent person to have walked on Earth for so long. It could be true ; you're his only source of light after all.

And him? He may be your darker side, but he never let someone down and wanted to help the entire world. Now, he's a mere shadow in the lifes of everyone. Hardly someone notice him time to time.

He lives in your heart, in your soul. But will you really let him die here ?
