Dawn of life
Thomas released his grip from around the Rat Man's throat and stared at Minho for a second before being grabbed by the arm and dragged to his feet.
"We have to get the clunk out of here," yelled Minho dragging Thomas by his arm as the entire structure fell around them, pieces of rock the size of cars and metal beams big enough to part a man down the middle landing feet away from them. They were only a few feet from the back room when a chunk of the roof gave way with a loud creak and the sound of grinding metal. All Thomas could was stare as it came hurtling towards him, he caught a glimpse of movement in the corner his right eye, Teresa slammed into him from the side propelling him out of danger.
"TERESA," Thomas scram at the top of his lungs the sound coming out sounding like a loud sob as he knew all too well what came next. There was a bright flash blinding him, the sounds had stopped and he finally mustered the courage to open his eyes, "What the hell." That was all he could manage to say while taking in the sight around him, time had stopped. He stood there for what seemed like an hour before daring to move and when he finally did he had to avoid the now floating debris. He made his way over to where Teresa was standing; she was crouching with palms up hoping to deflect the inevitable death blow careening down upon her, but the thing that struck him was her facial expression; Her face was not contorted in a look of horror or sadness but rather a look of wholeness. She appeared, at least to his eye, as content; content with what she had accomplished in life, she had helped save the numerous people WICKED had enslaved and had just saved him. He reached out an tugged on her sleeve finding that it gave, with this newfound knowledge he grabbed her by her arm and she came to the present, "huh, what's going on," she opened her eyes and looked around much to Thomas' surprise taking in the scene rather calmly.
"Come on we need to go," Thomas said shaking her arm slightly.
She consumed the air around her in shaky breaths, "Ok."
They walked over to the back room which contained the flat-trans, "I'm going to take you to the flat-trans and let go if what I think is correct you will freeze again ok, when you come too I want you to go through and don't look back." She nodded and Thomas led her to the upright gray square that was their only way out, he let go of her shoulder and she froze in place. He continued to do this for the rest eliciting a different response from each. When they were all lined up and ready to go in he willed time to unfreeze and somehow it just did, as soon as time started up again all of the eight of them ran through stumbling in to the bright light of day, they had made it.
