On her birthday, a little girl came up to her mother and asked
"Mama, I want to have someone who can love me as my birthday present."
The surprised mother smiled and asked her child
"Sure, of course you can darling. But there are millions of people out there who would love you, you know?
The little girl sat on the floor, and thought very hard, and then she decided on something else to add on.
"Mama, I got it. I don't only want that person to love me. I want that person to laugh and smile with me when I am very happy and pat me on the head when I am very sad."
The mother looked at her beautiful child and asked her softly
"Is there anything else you want that person to do?"
The little girl looked at her mother, and thought very hard indeed.
"Mama" she whispered "can that person cook many many nice things and teach me how to write and stuff?"
The mother touched her little child face and replied
"Definitely, that person will not only do that but will also hug you very tightly and read you many bedtime stories."
"Really, mama?"
The mother nodded and smiled, "darling? Would you like to have this present now?"
"Yes! Mama I would love to have this present now!" exclaimed the little girl.
For the rest of the day, the mother cooked many delicious dishes and taught the little girl how to draw and write her name, when the little girl fell over on the floor, mother pat her on the head and applied a cartooned plaster. When the little girl met her long time friends and was extremely happy, the mother smiled as bright as her child did.
When the day came to an end, the little girl lay on her bed while her mother read her many stories. At the end of the "snow white and the seven dwarfs" she asked her mother.
"Mama, where is my birthday present?"
The mother looked at her child, "isn't your birthday present, me?"
The little girl looked at her mother, and laughed.
"Yes, my birthday present is you, mama! And they hugged very tightly and very long that beautiful night.
