Inherited Passion
They never met, but they might have grown up quite similar if circumstances had allowed for it.
Both of them were passionate to a fault. Not the calm, almost shy, passion like Tsubasa. Not the heartfelt caring warmth that was Hibiki. No, this was a fire that burnt in Chris, that had burned in Kanade, that sat upon their sharp tongues –
And maybe that was why it was easier for Tsubasa to accept Chris than it had been to accept Hibiki. Even though Hibiki was the inheritor of the Gungnir it was Chris who inherited that fire. You played with Hibiki and you came away smiling, full of warmth. You played with Chris and you got burnt. It had been the same with Kanade.
As for Tsubasa, she was like the ice-shavings that gave you a brain-freeze.
But Kanade and Chris never did meet, so Tsubasa doesn't know if that's just her brain trying to patch up Hibiki's differences when it comes to Kanade, or her own dislike for the girl – which really has no real basis except mere principal, but at the moment she can't bring herself to care about such technicalities…
Or maybe it's because they really do share the same fiery passion, and she can't help but feel sorry for Chris and think of how it would have been if they hadn't met as enemies first of all…
