Once— it happened only once. That single kiss in the dark (heated, daring) branded Dean's lips with the taste of Sam.
Upon waking, it still seemed unreal. Only Sam's sideways glances and hopeful eyes told Dean otherwise. All Dean's promises to himself weakened with the memory of that touch.
A few months later Sam was at college while Dean's grief burned the hope out of his heart.
Time finally fell away in a Kansas motel room, four years forgotten with a second kiss. This was what Dean had waited for— this. Sam. He realized then, he'd waited his entire life.
