Aurora Borealis 97: If you can call it character death. It's not, really. Well, it is. Kinda. In a way.

GIR's POV:

Master? Why are you hitting me? It hurts really bad!

Did I do something wrong? I'm very very sad.

What? I let everything slide past me? I'm just a defect?

These things are hurtful, and I don't understand.

But now you're really starting to squeeze my hand.

I have no choice. I have to run.

But what's this? You're holding a gun.

"I'm sorry!" I shriek.

But you ignore it, and I feel weak.

"I'm tired of you not taking orders" you say

And I shout: "I'll help you destroy Dib, just put the gun away!"

Tears leak out of my eyes

As I say goodbye

To the life I once knew, spare me please!

But you just shake your head sadly, and shoot me.

Now I can hardly hear and see

You just stand there, and glare at me.

I love you master,

I try to show it every day,

But you want me to follow orders constantly, like it's that way.

Some orders I follow, I really do try,

But sometimes you don't even pay attention, and now I'm going to die.

As the lights flash in and out,

I start to have major regrets,

And I think you do too, you just haven't shown it yet.

So please forgive me,

For all the dumb things I do,

I just really want you to know,

That I look up to you…

Zim's POV:

What have I done? I sob into my sleeve. Computer asks me the same thing, and instead of getting mad at him like I usually do, I'm just walking slowly away. All this time, I thought GIR was the one messing up my mission, but really, I couldn't go on without him. I realize now that I just needed to try harder to complete it. But now that GIR is dead, I think that all hope is lost. Wait a minute. I ask Computer if there was any way I could fix the head part where I shot him. Computer said there were extra parts in the lower labs that I could use. I am running to the elevator, and I am now urging Computer to make it go faster. Once I get to the storage where I found Pustolio's tuxedo (A/N: Reference: Rise of the Zitboy) I get the most metal I can find, and it's literally taken me an hour now to fix all of his chips, which I then stuff into the metal wad. I'm stuffing it in his head. Ew, he has gum in his head. Everything is complete, and now I'm waiting for him to start up…

GIR's POV:

I feel like I was in some horrible dream,

But now I wake up,

And you're looking at me.

"I'm sorry" you say, and you start to tear up,

But best of all, you give me a hug.

I return the hug back, because now I can see,

You couldn't control your anger, so you blasted me.

But there's regret in your eyes,

And you tell me something that's very nice:

"You really are more advanced than those other SIRs, you have a special name, and that name is GIR. We don't know what the G stands for, but I don't really care, you seem to be happy, even if you were falling through the air. The Dib won't have a chance, because he sees that you're enhanced. I was wrong to hurt you, I'll never do it again, and I want you to know, that you're my best friend."

I smile and hug him as hard as I can,

And I also learn he has a present in one hand.

I take it from him, and it's a rubber pig,

I'm so happy, that I do a jig.

He smiles at me,

And everything is alright.

And I want it to be,

Just him and me,

Just for one night.
