Frozen in time. The Teen Titans, forever immortalized (ironically) in stone. Their statue graces the ruins of Titans Tower, a mere reminder of the old team.
Robin left first.
Left for Gotham to drop off his Robin costume, made himself a new one. Last I heard, Nightwing was still in Blüdhaven.
Starfire left second, but not by choice.
Left to find Nightwing, found him in time to be shot down by the Joker. I still visit her grave daily.
Next was Beast Boy.
Strained to keep his remaining friends and third family together, ultimately driving them further apart. He left for L.A. and took up the moniker Changeling. We don't talk much, which is fine by me.
Cyborg slowly became obsolete.
He decided to die in the comfort of the Tower once filled with laughter instead of a life attached to a mobile battery.
Raven disappeared.
I've seen her more than the others, somehow. She faded into Jump City, becoming the other, less well-known vigilante. As far as I know, no one else has seen her.
She finally trusts me.
I smooth my finger over the statue, the details that I had carved myself. Only a select few realize the irony of my handiwork. I captured the Titans how I remember them: Robin in a battle stance, poised and ready for action. Starfire as the independent and strong beauty, her Starbolts ready. Cyborg, his cannon raised, his ruby eye gleaming in the sun. Raven, a serious expression on her hooded stone face, battle ready. And finally, my Beast Boy, about to change, with a serious look in his emerald eyes.
On the base of the statue I had carved the names of the Titans who had died and perished in battle. I don't want to look at that. It's getting dark, I realize. I've got to leave.
Finally, I turn away from the statue and the Tower, leaving memories, regret, and broken promises behind.
A/N: Okay. This takes place in my Future Titans AU Universe. Which is currently inside my head. Heh, whoops. Anyway, if you cannot guess the P.O.V, then (gasp) you must not know the series very well. Yes, I am well aware of the sucky ending. And yes, I do love irony.
Constructive criticism? Please?
