What Taisha wants from the Inubozakis
They were shocked. And angry. And in denial.
It wasn't like the Todou family. Or the Sogi family, or the Minowa family. The Inubozakis were less than thrilled to learn about the Vertixes and their daughters' destinies in fighting them.
Destinies was perhaps an incorrect term. Rather, the Taisha chose them to fight for Shinju-sama.
And the Taisha would not accept that denial.
'It's an honour,' they said, 'to be chosen to serve Shinju-sama.'
The Inubozakis were the few in Shikoku who did not blindnly follow Shinju-sama. Perhaps because their roots were in Tokyo city. Perhaps because they were always flying to and from for work. Perhaps they were always immersed in the modern culture, far away from Shinju-sama's shrines and its teachings.
They cared more about their daughters than about Shinju-sama. But their daughters had high aptitudes, and were needed. Especially now, when they had no-one else they could trust to fight the Vertixes. Girls with high aptitudes, yes, but only Nogi Sonoko who'd battled before and remembered – and she had gained too much power for them to risk asking her again.
And they'd already proven that three girls weren't enough to fight the Vertixes. They needed at least four, maybe five –
They had two. The Inubozaki sisters would be two more. But they fought the idea. First bafflement, then anger. They didn't want their daughters out there, fighting.
But Taisha always got what it wanted.
