AU: Hi all. I haven't wrote in over a year- I had major examinations. This is my first foray into the Tangled archive, after months of anticipation. This is just a taster for me, just trying out my capabilities after a year away. Expectations aren't too high, I hope, but I'll be starting my first multi-chap soon. Just need to decide whether it'll be for (the new TV series) Once Upon A Time or Tangled! (: Please enjoy.
Flynn does not know how to feel about the turn of events.
While he is certainly enjoying these feather pillows, the fact that he and Rapunzel aren't going to be able to run off together and live out their happily-ever-after is rather disappointing.
And he was looking forward to the rest of their lives together- just the two of them.
And now that Rapunzel has a kingdom under her belt-
You, me and the kingdom.
Flynn wrinkles his nose.
He has to admit, this wasn't exactly how he'd have liked things to turn out.
Eugene smacks his face and tells Flynn to stop being so selfish.
Rapunzel is probably going through a lot more than him, so Flynn should just shut up and sit down. He hopes that she'll be strong and tackle everything with that inner strength he knows she's so capable of displaying. Rapunzel is so much stronger than she lets on, but, just in case, Eugene had better go and look for her.
As he strolls down the castle hall, Flynn admires the tapestries. They'd make excellent slide-down-castle-wall material, for little gallivants off with Rapunzel out the castle gates. They'd find a lake, go swimming and roll around in the grass.
Eugene surveys his surroundings, wondering how he could better adjust his life for her.
When he reaches Rapunzel's room, Eugene knocks quietly, though Flynn would like to barge in and kiss Rapunzel senseless. Eugene doesn't think Rapunzel would appreciate that at this point in time- though it would definitely make himself feel better.
When Rapunzel opens the door, her eyes wide and lost, Eugene wraps his arms around her and allows her to bury her face in his chest. Flynn seems to have run off somewhere.
Right now, it's just Eugene and Rapunzel.
Flynn seems perfectly fine with that.
Thank you, Rapunzel mouths.
That's more than enough welcome for him to stay- just for her.
