As the mighty wall stood aloof on the border, all fell silent as the first shot of a war that would last for a millennia was fired. White hot, the cannon ball hurtled towards the marble slabs that adorned the exterior of the massive divider, the wind screaming in pain as the heat vaporized any liquid in the air. It was a perfect shot at it flew with the rapidity and the anger only those betrayed by a nation which they had help build could know, but it was to no effect as the molten metal hit the wall and flattened against it only serving to reinforce the bastion of treachery that was the wall.
With a laugh the golden dictator stood atop the wall and gave the order to retaliate.
" Load the battery and let none survive, for this will be the dawn of our rule over this world. Let this puny rabble serve as example for the rest of humanity, resistance will only prolong the inevitable."
From behind the wall an array of bronze plated artillery fired, their booms cracking the tops off of the nearest mountains and sending countless tonnes of steel and fire into the air, so much so that one might have mistaken the mass for the sun. In the air they hung for what seemed like eons but after the time had past the metal began its shrieking descent back to earth.
"Fall back, Fall back I say and let let your children have fathers still" Cried commander Pius of the freeland defenders. Closer the metal came and the faster the attackers of the wall ran but little end. Already the defenders of the wall could see the fear in their targets faces and they smiled. The first victory of the millennial war was about to be won.
Pius Could see the fear in the faces of his comrades however upon realising the futility of their situation they stood their ground and awaited the damnation that was sure to befall them when the metal reached the earth.
" It will take more than death for us to surrender to you!"
