Kyle turned around, shocked by the sudden news. He stared at the young woman, who stared back at him. Her eyes looked directly at him, and then shifted from side to side.
"Jake has asked for my hand in marriage…" she said again and paused then asked "Kyle, what should I do…?"
He found it difficult to answer her. "Cecilia…"
"I'm so sorry…"
He looked at her and saw her teary eyes. Quickly he grabbed her and hugged her tightly.
"If I had enough money to support us both…I would have asked first but… I just can't support us both. Cecilia, I really don't know what to say…" he sighed and looked at the sky
"I don't care. I can wait. I can wait for you Kyle." Cecilia looked up and smiled
Kyle wiped away a few tears on her cheeks. He knew that she would wait, although he would have to deal with a certain person for a while.
Both returned to their homes, Kyle to his farmhouse and Cecilia the Inn. That evening, both thought of their future together. The mere thought of it made Cecilia jump with excitement. Kyle sat in bed smiling; he didn't remember anything before coming to Alvarna but this made him happy.
The next morning, Kyle found a very angry Jake at his front door step.
"G-good morning!" he said smiling
"Don't talk to me." Jake replied coldly, "Why did you steal her away from me?! She shouldn't be with you…a human!" he cried angrily
Kyle wanted to reply but was afraid he would say something to upset the man even more. Eventually after a long silence, Jake sighed heavily and walked off towards the inn.
Kyle slowly walked to his fields and began his daily work. The future seemed so exciting to think about. One thing kept coming up in his mind, would he remember his past?
He froze and stood up. Quickly wiping his forehead, and then returning to his work.

"Kyle, I have a question…" Cecilia raised her head
He looked at her questioningly.
"If we get…married, do you think we'd start a family?" she asked shyly
His cheeks turned a deep red. "Well… I…I'll think it through first, OK?"
She nodded. "If we do…I hope…" she stopped and then looked at Kyle, "I'll finish that sentence another day. I don't think it's necessary today."
Kyle leaned on a nearby tree, and then he began to think. Children, huh? What will they think of a father without a memory? The next thing he knew, he was sleeping and began to dream about the near future. One that might come faster than he expected.
