I wanted to write so I did a randomized prompt thing, that I can no longer find online, where it gave a character, an incident or action, a feeling, an item, and either another item or person. What I got was Asami, after an accident, friendship with hurt/comfort, bloodstained clothes, and a spirit. This is what I wrote. (It takes place after the series, and after their vacation *wink wonk* because I don't know where it would fit into the show) Korrasami is here if you want it to be, and not here if you ignore the subtext.

Glass shattered everywhere as her car smashed into the unexpected wall of rocks. Asami sat behind the broken windshield and steering wheel, unable to move. Her head hurt and she could feel blood dripping down her face, but opening her eyes was an effort she felt she couldn't complete. She didn't want to move but she knew she had to. Her friends needed her. Korra needed her.

"Asami."

The voice sent a chill through her body. It was a voice she hadn't heard since she was little, a voice she thought she'd never hear again, but always wished she could.

The task she thought impossible happened in an instant. Her eyes shot open and there, standing in front of her, outside her now totaled car, stood the woman she's wished to see one last time on every shooting star, every birthday candle, and every day since.

"Mom?" Tears fell down from her eyes, mixing with the blood on her cheeks.

Ignoring the pain it caused, she undid her seat belt and opened the car door. Her left arm felt broken and she could hardly see straight, but, as if the wind carried her, she soon stood in front of her long since passed mother.

"Does this mean-am I dead?" Asami looked at the car that sat smashed against a wall of rock and back at her mom. "How is this possible?"

Her mom lifted her hand and wiped away the tears and blood on Asami's cheeks.

"Mom, I've missed you so much."

"I've missed you too, Asami, but know I've always been with you, every step you've taken."

Asami fell into her mothers arms, hugging her for all the years she couldn't.

"Asami, you've got to wake up."

She looked up at her mom, confused.

"Asami, please, wake up." The voice came from her mom, but it wasn't her moms voice.

"I love you, Asami." Her mom whispered before fading away.

With her arm still wrapped around her, Asami fell to the street below as her moms body became invisible.

"Come on, I know you can wake up. Please, Asami, I can't do this without you." The voice sounded close to her, as if someone was kneeling beside her.

Slowly she reopened her eyes and saw Korra next to her, a pained look on her face.

"Asami! I'm so happy you're okay. I thought we lost you." Korra hugged her, "are you okay?"

Asami still felt all the pain she felt before, but she let it go as she hugged Korra. "What happened?"

"You were chasing Jin, but he must have earth-bended a wall in front of you. Your car hit it and I guess sent you flying through the windshield."

Asami looked at her car, down at her bloodstained clothes, and up to where she thought her mother stood.

"Are you okay? Can you move?" Korra extended her hand to Asami and she stood up.

"I'm sorry. I let him get away." She looked back at her car, smashed against the block of rocks that should not have been in the middle of the street. She took Korra's hand and struggled to stand.

"Don't worry about him, we'll get him later. Right now we need to focus on you." Korra put her hand on Asami's shoulder.

With Korra's help, she made her way over to Naga, where Korra helped lift her up.

Before they left, Asami took one more glance to where she just was and saw her mom smiling.
