A/N: I like writing conversations between these two. ^_^ It's simple, fun, and I generally end up with a good result! XD
Almost Lover
"Why are you listening to that song, Sakura? It's so sad."
"Oh… I guess it's just because it's a nice song," she answered. "What's wrong with it?"
"I just said; it's sad."
"So?" she questioned.
"So… listening to 'Almost Lover' while I'm in the room? It kind of offends me, I guess." He shrugged.
"Hmm, I see your point, Syaoran."
"Good."
"But we're not 'almost lovers'; we are together."
"Yeah, but it's kinda like it's a bad omen."
"Want me to listen to 'The Breakup Song' instead?"
"…No." He paused. "Are you teasing me, or do you want me to define 'bad omen'?"
"Neither." She laughed.
"I do like it, actually," he mused.
"It is very sad, but that will never happen to us, will it?"
"Of course not," he scoffed.
"Oh, good." She smiled.
"I can't sing you Spanish lullabies. I don't speak Spanish," he informed her.
"In any other context, that would make no sense."
"I imagine so."
"You know I'm not going to stop listening to it," she stated.
"I am well aware of that."
"So why are you still sitting here? I thought you didn't want to hear it."
"I figure you'll be happier with me around, even if you insist on listening to such a depressing song."
"Self-absorbed much?"
"Whatever," he laughed.
"I do love you, you know," she told him.
"And I love you."
"We won't ever stop loving each other, will we?"
"Who knows? But I do know that I will never hurt you," he promised.
"Me neither," she agreed.
"We're too far in to quit now, anyway," he pointed out.
"I'm glad." She sighed happily.
"So am I."
"…I will never stop loving you, Syaoran," she whispered.
"Me neither."
"Do all our conversations end up like this?" she asked after a moment of companionable silence.
"Pretty much, yeah."
A/N: Did I get the right amount of sweetness in there? I dunno, I think it fell a little short… Oh, well.
